WARNING: Spoilers for book one! I highly recommend that you read book one, even if you don't read it all at once, because it has a hell of a lot more detail, infomation and richness to it. :) Book one sets the mood, so to speak.

Elizabeth, a twenty six year old Australian, had no idea such things as 'werewolves' existed before she came to America. Captured by a mad man who claimed he was a werewolf, she was bitten and has lost memory of the past ten months, except for torture, torment, and a man call her his pet. She finally escapes under the name Anne with one of the other survivors- an Indian girl who calls herself Pav- but neither of them know where to go. America isn't their home.
They're found by Nick and Antonio- two mid-ranking wolves of the American Pack- and are taken back to Stonehaven where they are offered shelter, security and a safe place to heal. Nick starts to reveal that he and Anne once met before she was taken. Eventually he exposes that they actually were in love and had been engaged. Werewolves track Anne down to Stonehaven... several times, and she finds out at Christmas that her family were murdered by her 'Master' as punishment for her escape. And now he's got her five year old nephew as bait to lure her back.
She and Nick fly to Australia to face the funerals instead, trying to throw him off, and there she's attacked by the Australian Alpha and then by his son. Anne has to agree with his son to find 'Daniella', who the Australian Alpha sent to America, and has to see all of her family... her mother, father, sister, two nephews and two nieces... all buried.
She returns home to grieve... trusting the pack to search for her nephew, and eventually snaps out of it, more determined than ever to find and kill the Master who's destroyed so many lives.
