Just Needed a Leg

Time passed by again and she was standing beside Tenma while looking at the automatic door.

“Let’s go in?” Tenma asked.

“I don’t know,” she replied, hesitant for some reason.

“C’mon! What’s the reason why you’re joining the soccer club?”

“Because you asked me to?”

“That’s it?”

“Huh?”

“Is that the only reason?”

“I don’t know! It’s just that… you mentioned about joining, and then…”

“Is that it?” Tenma asked.

“I wanted to join because…”

“Because?”

“I don’t know. When you passed the ball to me, I felt like there was a connection made between us. I received the ball, and I received a happy feeling I’ve never felt,” she said.

Tenma smiled. “So, why are you joining?” he asked once more.

She looked at him with determination. Promising eyes that show what she really wants to do.

“I want to join because I want to feel that feeling and pass it on to the other players that I meet!”

Tenma smiled at her answer. “It wasn’t what I was looking for but, you’re not really good in explaining, are you?”

“It’s a feeling I really can’t explain!!” she yelled.

“Okay, okay… jeez,” Tenma said with his hands up in defense.

They looked at the doors once more.

“I’m gonna do something stupid, aren’t I?” she asked, hesitant once more.

“Good, but you already done that by letting that rumor go around the entire school,” Tenma pointed out.

“Thanks, but it’s handy sometimes. Plus, its fun to see those people think and talk about stuff you already know the truth about, like your friends for example,”

“When you’re trying to defend yourself, you say a lot of insults… huh?”

“What?!”

“Oh nothing, but, really? Something stupid?” he asked while putting his hands on his hips.

“Then maybe something crazy,” she said with a determined face once more.

“That’s more like it,”

“You like it when I’m crazy?”

“Well, the crazy people are the stronger ones,”

“I hate you,”

“Aw, I like you too,”

They stared at it once more.

“No delays!” Tenma shouted.

“I so hate you!” she yelled back

“Ladies first,” Tenma said and pushed her gently for the door to automatically swish open for the whole team to stare at her.

She straightened herself and looked around. Her heart was pounding from all the pressure her nervousness was giving her. She was used to having people talk about her and stuff but she wasn’t used to gaining all the attention. And I mean it, ALL OF IT!

And she could see it. They looked at her with condemning eyes that was only for her. All of the students in school do.

‘To do list after club: try to kill Tenma,’ she thought. That was dark of her but, hey, she didn’t sign up for something she wasn’t ready for. Ah, the weirdness of a crazy relationship with someone.
