I closed my laptop, picking up my purse.
"Ready to go?" Keith questioned.
I nodded and he guided me towards the door, with his hand against my lower back. Once we got to the parking levels, Keith clicked his key chain button, unlocking his Audi.
"Wow.. This is yours?" He smirked. "Nope, we are stealing right now.."
I narrowed my eyes at him and he chuckled.
"Yes its mine, you like?" I nodded. "It's beautiful." He smiled, starting the car, putting in GPS before taking off.
"I gotta say, this is exactly how you described it, I like the chill vibe this place gives off.." Keith confessed.
"I told you it was great, so comfy and warming.. I could sit here for hours and just stare at the sky over the lake." Keith smiled, watching me.
"Tell me about the last dumb ass who lost you.." I looked at him, flashbacks of Luke went through my mind, I sat up straight. "Wow um.."
Keith sensed my drawback. "Only if you want to..." He reached over placing his hand over mine.
I shook my head.
"No it's okay.. Back in college there was this guy..." I trailed off.
"Luke.. He was.. Charming. At least at first he was.. I use to always see him around and he would always check me out or say hi to me.. Most times we would meet up in the library and he would help me with my math work for class, he was a real math whiz it was crazy.. Eventually we started hanging out more and he would get me all types of gifts, and Algee..."
I paused, chuckling.
"Algee hated him from the start.. and I never listened to him, I should have. I should have listened to his warnings but I thought he was just being an over protective best friend. I ended up falling so in love with him, I was blind."
I continued.
"But then he started getting kinda possessive, so it was like I wasn't in control of my own life anymore. I was so call "his" like his property for a year, I didn't have a voice, he kept me away from Algee, I had to sneak to see him.. He started doing illegal things with people that I didn't like and I finally had enough, dumping him. He eventually let it go after weeks of saying it wasn't over and how he'll come back for me.. It's been about 4 years.. He's not coming." I smiled.
Keith gave me a nervous smile. "Funny, when I had those rough times in college, one of the guys I use to hang with was named Luke."
We stared at each other. "Doubt it's him though.." He shrugged.
I nodded nervously. He gripped my hand. "Forget about him, he's stupid for losing you.. You're with me now.. and I don't plan on letting you go.." He said and we made eye contact.
I smiled and looked away. "Wanna get out of here?" I nodded and he grinned, leaving money in the check before we got up and left.
