A few months has past since the war with The Other Side, and the buzz is finally starting to die down. Everyone is also starting to move on with Casey's death. SpyWorld even added his name to a wall of plaques in their headquarters with the names of spies lost in major battles. Which they all saw as an honor. With that happening, Jordan took the initiative to make everyone's spy outfits bulletproof.

On the other hand, The Other Side was in chaos over the death of Sir Malum, and were in a panic to find a new leader. Their first choice would be the second in command, but now that Joey helped them escape and went back to SpyWorld, that position is also empty. Eventually they decided on Tristan who was Malum's best man behind Joey, but he soon blew up the west wing by accident and got thrown off. After that disaster, they've been too busy in reconstruction to get a new leader, and are slowly dying out of activity, just like they were before.

"Haven't we had enough rain this month?" Zoey said with her arms crossed over her chest, trying to keep warm as she and the other girls hurried from the dorms to the school.
"I think what you should be asking, is how the force field can't keep the stuff out." Melody responds as she mirrored Zoey's stance.
"I don't know, maybe because it's not really a threat to us." Mackenzie explains while they walk in.
"What isn't a threat? Is it Mitch? He sure is an 'it'" Jace says with a smile of suppressed laughter as he and Felix both follow them in, earning a glare from Mitch, who surprisingly doesn't say anything.
"No were talking about," Ella gets interrupted by Jordan who tells all of them to take a seat.
"Nothing important." She says before taking her seat which is now next to Joey, who was late, as usual.
"Lately I've been thinking what I should do to make class more enjoyable for you guys, and I've decided on having you give me some topics you would like to discuss." Jordan says as he watched the class hopefully, waiting for a suggestion.
"Okay then if no one has anything to ask let's get on with today's lesson which will be starting a seven hundred sixty-three page biography on the life of a retired spy-" Everyone's hands shot into the air and Jordan laughed a little before choosing someone.
"Felix."
"I didn't think he was going to pick me! I got nothing!" He whispered in a panic to Jace.
"Dunno just ask anything it'll at the very least stall him for a few minutes." Jace whispered back.
"Well, I was just wondering.. what's your favorite food?" Jordan's smile fell slightly as the rest of the class started laughing under their breath.
"Chicken. Can we please stay on topic?" Jordan said plainly as everyone started laughing again, well, everyone except Felix.
"Anything else?" Jordan looked at the hands that were in the air. "Mackenzie."
"What jobs would you say we would get after we're done with training?" Mackenzie's question made everyone stop and think for a second, even Jordan took a long pause before answering her.
"Well it depends on your specialty and how well you do. For example, you for one would have three choices, you can go into the front lines to fight, be a mission worker, or a teacher, like myself." Mackenzie nodded her head in understanding.
"Melody."
"What would my job be?" She asks, hoping it would be similar to Kenzie's. "Probably about the same for you guys except since you're more in close-range fighting there could be other options too." Jordan answers as Mitch yawns loudly, trying to the point across to Jordan that he thinks they're wasting time.
"What took you so long?" Mitch glared at Joey as he walked in.
"Why don't you ask the old witch in the cafeteria." Joey says with a twinge of annoyance in his tone.
"What was it this time?" Ella asked him while he took a seat next to her.
"You tell me, that thing can't stand me." Ella laughed at him calling Elliot a "thing" as Jordan continued on with class.
"Okay last night I asked you all to read the next chapter of your math booklets, and finish the packet pages two through five.." Jordan says while he searches his desk for the work.
"Psst.. hey Jace, did you do it?" Felix whispers as he leans over to Jace.
"No... ask Zoey" Jace says as he looks up to see Jordan checking Mackenzie and Melody's. They turn around in their chairs to face Zoey who was sitting behind them with Luke because of the new seating arrangement. Surprisingly Jace and Felix are still sitting with each other.
"Psst... Zoey" Jace and Felix say together. Zoey rolls her eyes.
"What is it this time?" She asks.
"Did you do the homework?" Felix whispers checking to see if Jordan was coming to their side of the room yet. "Yeah, but I'm not gonna let you copy it, that's cheating. You can do it yourself" Zoey says as she crosses her arms and covers her packet so they can't see the answers.
"Oh come on Zoey, we don't have enough time to do it now, and we don't wanna have to clean the bathrooms!" Jace begs, knowing that when they don't do their homework they have to clean them as a punishment.
"You guys should've thought of that last night when you were fooling around instead of doing your homework!" Jordan walks over right after Zoey finishes her sentence.
"Alright, let me see your homework.. good, okay now Luke let me see yours.. alright, good" Jordan says as he looks through Luke and Zoey's work to make sure they have finished it. Jordan proceeded to walk towards Felix and Jace's desks to see if they finished their work.
"Alright let me see your papers." Jordan says as he holds his clipboard and pen.
"Uhh we-"
"left our homework in the dorm!" Jace says quickly, interrupting Felix. Felix smiles at Jace for the idea and goes along with it.
"Yeah! Can we go get it? And on the way can I please use the bathroom I gotta go." Felix added so they would have more time.
"Alright.. but be quick!" Jordan says to them.
"We will!" Jace says, as they get up they stuff their packets in their shirts.
They started to walk and Luke handed Felix a small folded up piece of paper on the way out. They continued to walk until they got to the dorms and Felix opened the paper.
"It's the homework!! Luke gave it to me!" Felix says with excitement. "Quickly! Let's do it then!!" Jace says as they both pull out a pencil and start writing down the answers. When they finished they quickly ran out of the dorms and started to walk back to the school.
"Hey uh, do you think we could go to the bathroom?" Felix asks as they start to pass the bathrooms.
"C'mon we don't have enough time" Jace adds worried that Jordan will soon get suspicious. They hurry back and while they were walking back to their seats Felix stealthily gave Luke his paper back, that had a little "thank you :)" added onto it.
"Homework?" Jordan asks them again after they get back, and both of them put it on their desks, feeling relieved. "Good.. and good." Jordan marks two As on the clipboard next to their names and walks back to the front of the room.
The rest of the day goes by pretty quick and soon it's 5:00 and time to go to the cafeteria for dinner.
"Did anyone hear what Jordan said was tonight's menu?" Luke asked while they walked in and waited at the counter to order.
"Yeah I think it was soup or something." Zoey answers as Elliot walks up to the counter, opening the top to a large pot with thick green tinted liquid filling it.
"Oh! What is that smell!" Zoey says as she covers her nose with her hand, earning a distasteful look from Elliot. Ella elbows her side a little, letting her know she shouldn't of said it that loud. "What exactly is in that." Jace asked. "Looks like meat, guess I'm skipping out on dinner tonight, oh what a pity.." Felix says as he turns to walk out of the cafeteria but Melody grabs him by the wrist and pulls him back to where they're standing.
"No way you're going to leave us with that." She tells him under her breath as Elliot started naming the monstrosity of a soup.
"It is a split pea and clam chowder brew, with freshly ground octopus, artichoke, and its VEGETARIAN." Elliot looks directly at Felix during the last part, making him cringe, knowing he can't get out of this one.
"I don't think I've ever smelled anything as bad as this." Luke says as they all take their seats around one of the tables.
"Is she mad at us? It feels like all week the foods been getting worse and worse." Mackenzie says while looking over her shoulder at Elliot who was helping herself to some of the horrid cocktail.
"Where's Joey? You know it's probably his fault, he probably said something to her to get her all fired up, and now she's taking it out on all of us." Jace said as he swirled his spoon around the murky green liquid.
"He did say something about her getting mad at him for some reason." Ella mentioned.
"Whatever it is, I say that we come back later after curfew and steal a few snacks so we don't starve." Felix offers.
"I second that." Zoey agrees. "Do you think Toast would like a visit to SeaWorld?" Ella asks Mackenzie as she holds up her untouched bowl.
"No Toast is perfectly okay with her pellets." Mackenzie laughs and pushes her dish forward a bit so the smell will stop burning her nose.
Felix sighs and looks at his bowl and then up at Jace who was busy talking to Luke and not even acknowledging him. Melody notices Felix's behavior and feels as if something is up so she decides to ask.
"Hey Fel, is everything alright? I mean I know this stuff is gross but you look upset." Felix snaps out of his daze and looks up at Melody.
"Oh yeah I'm fine, I was just thinking." He answers as he goes back to what he was thinking about.
"Alright.." Melody says going back to her conversation with Ella.
After everyone was "finished", basically after Elliot left. Everyone threw away their food and grabbed some snacks to head back to the dorms. Felix stayed behind to grab some more snacks so he, Jace, and Luke will have more things to eat if they get hungry during the night. Felix looked through and grabbed some chips, cookies, few other things and some drinks, by the time he finished looking it was 8:54 PM so he knew it had to hurry. He tried to carry all of it but continued to drop some items on the way there. By the time he was at the dorm door he was kicking a water bottle and a bag of fruit snacks he had dropped. Felix knocked on the door and waited for an answer. He knew they were in there, and were awake because he could hear their laughter from behind the door. "Hello?? A little help!!" Felix said knocking some more, since he couldn't open the door because his hands were full. He ends up just dropping some of his food to free one hand to open the door. He walks in to see Jace and Luke laughing and talking.
"Oh hey Felix, where have you been?" Jace asks and then sees the look on Felix's face which was filled with annoyance.
"I was trying to get some extra snacks for us in case we got hungry again later on, then I needed someone to help me open the door to let me in but you guys were too busy laughing to even notice!" Felix snapped back with exasperation as he crosses his arms.
"Well maybe you should tell us before wandering off like you always do, you know it's kind of annoying how you always do that." Jace replied copying Felix's stance.
"At least I actually say we should do our homework instead of you who says we can do it later and we never end up doing it!! Even when we do it, I'm the one doing the work and all you do is copy it!" Felix yells back furious.
"I do just as much work as you do! That's ridiculous, Felix you're so annoying and such a baby sometimes!!" Jace says also yelling now.
"You know what?? I hope you're having a grand time with Luke because I'm no longer going to be your friend, all you ever do is hang out with him and you never talk to me anyway!!" Felix yells as he tries to hold back his tears.
"Oh so that's what this is about? Because I can make friends and you can't? I always talk to you I was talking to you this morning!! You're so emotional Felix!!" Jace says rolling his eyes at what Felix had just said.
"The only reason you were talking to me this morning was because you had to because you sit next to me in class!!! It's been like this for weeks now, all you do is talk to me in class and then after you go and hang out with Luke!! Which I'm fine with! I don't wanna be friends with you anyway!" Felix yells as he stomps out of the room and goes to slam the door but at the last second shuts it quietly so it's not too loud. Jace mumbles a few last words and then lies down in his bed not saying another word for the rest of the night.
Felix knocks on Joeys door to the basement and waited patiently for an answer. After a few seconds the door opened and there stood a tired, messy haired Joey. He wore sweatpants and an old tee-shirt.
"What do you want Felix." Joey said in a low mutter.
"Um.. is it okay if I stay in here for the night and maybe for a few nights?" Felix asks hoping he'll say yes.
"As much as I would love to have an amazing slumber party with you, I just don't think you could handle staying down here. You know, with having a small phobia of basements. Not to mention I'd hate for you to have to sleep on the cold floor since there's only one bed down here. I really am sorry." Joey says with a smile apologetically as he slowly closes the door on Felix.
"Wait, please? I could sleep on the floor and I don't mind basements anymore!" Felix says hoping he'll change his mind. "I don't know, it can feel really tight down here, being kept in a small space like this, underground. Almost feels as if this place is gonna collapse right over you. Not to mention it gets really dark and you wouldn't want to see my clown masks I keep hanging on the walls." Joey says with a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah.. I-I guess you're right, well thanks." Joey closes the door and walks back down the stairs.
"Idiot." He mumbles as he goes back to sleep in his bed. Felix sighs and walks over to knock on the girls' dorm. He waits and after a few minutes knocks again. Ella answers the door.
"Hey Felix what are you doing?" She asks rubbing her eyes.
"I wanted to know if I could stay with you guys for the night, I kind of got into an argument with Jace." Felix says looking down at the ground.
"Yeah I heard you guys, you can come in" Ella says and let's him in. He walks over to a spare bed and lies down in it. Surprisingly the only one asleep was Melody which Felix was thankful for. There was a little lamp on in their room and Zoey was reading, Mackenzie was petting toast on her bed, and Ella was on her phone.
"So.. what happened with you and Jace, we heard yelling but it was hard to hear what you were saying." Zoey said wanting to know what they were arguing about.
"Pretty much Jace has been hanging out with Luke all the time and never hangs out with me anymore, well he does but when we do it's with Luke. Then he always hangs  out with just Luke too! It's so annoying !" Felix says frustrated.
"Sounds like someone is jealous." Ella says with a smirk on her face.
"I am not jealous!!" Felix says his face starting to red.
"Haha okay sure, whatever you say!" Ella says starting to laugh at Felix's reaction.
"I will tell you one thing I am not jealous, I'm just sick of Jace treating me like this- and okay maybe I am just a little jealous.." Felix admits.
"Told you!" Ella says laughing. "Whatever, I'm going to bed." Felix says getting annoyed and starting to head to sleep.
Since the next day was a Saturday everyone got to sleep in a little before Jordan woke them for a quick meeting, like they were doing the past few weekends.
"Guys its ten o'clock, please go to the meeting room in five minutes." Jordan says on the loud speakers with a tired ring to his voice. Melody rolls her eyes and throws her pillow over her head in response, whereas Mackenzie who's next to her, carefully tucks in her bedding and goes into her chest to pick out an outfit.
"How does Jordan expect us to get any training when everything is covered with snow?" Ella asked as she stared out the window.
"I don't know. But Felix can you leave for a few minutes so we can change?" Zoey asks while opening the door for him.
"Oh sorry, forgot." Felix says before walking out of the girls' side and going across the hall to the boys' so he can change himself.
"Hey Kenz, do you have any sweaters I can borrow?" Melody asks her while pulling various articles of clothing out. "Sure, let me guess, they're all in the wash again?" Mackenzie asks her with a laugh while simultaneously throwing a gray Nike hoodie over at Melody.
"It's not my fault I only have three! Plus who knew that it would still be freezing by the time spring came?"
"It so is your fault that you only have three, last time we checked you were the one who buys your own clothes." Zoey joins in while she texts Jordan asking what's for breakfast; sausage, eggs, and pancakes. Melody ignores her and puts on Kenzie's sweater which is a little tight because she's small, but it still fits. Meanwhile Felix was standing outside of the door to the boys' dorms thinking about what to say to avoid possibly starting an argument with Jace, and knowing for sure, that Luke would take his side. Taking a deep breath, Felix opened the door and saw that Jace wasn't there, but Luke was. He tried to avoid eye contact while walking by to his bed, and opened the chest next to it, pulling out some clothes.
"If you're wondering, he left early because he didn't want to deal with you." Luke told him.
"If you're wondering I didn't ask." Felix snapped back, impressed at his comeback. I must be hanging around Joey too much. He thought to himself before taking his clothes and walking out of the dorms to the bathrooms to change.
Ten minutes later everyone was ready and stood in the meeting room, greeted by an annoyed Mitch and a tired Jordan.
"What about five minutes is so hard to understand?" Mitch says as he paces the room, arms crossed over his chest, with a scowl on his face.
"Mitch just give them a break, I'm sure," Jordan yawns, cutting off his sentence.
"I'm sure that everyone's late once in a while."
"Oh wake up." Mitch claps his hands in Jordan's face, making him flinch and step back.
"Okay since dopey's a little tired here, I'm going to start this meeting, have a seat we have a lot to discuss. Everyone takes a seat around the big table as Mitch dims the lights and turns on a projector, opening up a slideshow. "Over the last few months we've been doing some renovations to the camp, I don't know if you've noticed or not." He flips the slide and it shows the front gate.
"We installed a new, fool proof security system for the front door, which not only needs a code but one of our handprints, so we don't need to worry about anyone taking an unapproved trip to town." Mitch takes a second to give Zoey a look before continuing. "The force field also now has an electrical backsnap so I wouldn't touch it anytime from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am, unless you want to end up seriously injured or dead." Everyone is slowly feeling their eyelids start to close, and Mitch's boring, assertive tone really isn't helping them.
"Next, we have two new modes for the maze, both of which you can find out on your own, and we have a new specialized area just for potions so Joey, you can finally get your practice in.
"Wow. Thank you. What a wonderful surprise. Yay." Joey says unenthusiastically, while Ella and Luke laugh at what he said.
"Next there's just minor improvements, Mackenzie we got you a new bow to replace the old one and tipped arrows, Zoey a new shipment of swords from headquarters should be coming in this week, same with you Ella we got some axes, Jace there's a new wall of daggers if you want to try them out and Melody there's some new punching bags out there." Mitch looks at Jordan to see if he missed anything only to see that he fell asleep in his chair.
"Okay. You guys can go." The lights come back on and everyone gets walks up the stairs into the shop.
After a few hours of everyone testing out their new things it was time for lunch. So they all headed back to the café.
"Hey where's Elliot?" Ella asks as she and Zoey walk up to the counter but instead of seeing Elliot they see a blonde haired girl in her early thirties talking to a girl with short and dark hair and looked to be about their age. "Hey Vivian, who's the new chick?" Jace asks as he walks up next to Zoey and Ella. Felix gave Jace a dirty look. "That's pretty rude to say, she's not a chicken." He says, not really caring about what Jace said but instead wanting to just start an argument with him.
"Oh yeah! You're right! How could I be so stupid!" Jace says putting a hand on his face to portray shock. Felix smiles thinking he won.
"She's not the chicken, you are!" Jace says, Felix looses his smile and rolls his eyes.
"Well anyway, this is Lucie, she's going to be shadowing me for the week to get know what it's like to be a chef at a spy camp." Vivian says with a smile. The girl who they then know is Lucie turns and gives them all a smile.
"Well that's the official tour of the kitchen, I need to go and let Jordan know that you're ready to get settled in, excuse me." Vivian leaves the cafeteria, and a silence follows the swishing of the doors falling back into place.
"So Lucie, where are you from?" Zoey asks, cutting the silence.
"A cooking camp a couple hours by helicopter from here. It's not the biggest place." Lucie says quietly and smiles warmly at them, while Ella gets a question for her.
"What exactly is a cooking camp?" She asks.
"Cooking camp is pretty much just like spy camp, minus the whole spy part. I'm still training to work at SpyWorld just as a chef, because Spy's need people to cook their food." Lucie explains to them and Ella nods her head in understanding.
"Were you unfortunate enough to meet Elliot?" Felix asks while barely listening to her answer, his thoughts were preoccupied with who he thought was his best friend.
"Um yeah..." Lucie says looking at the ground.
"Was she rude?" Ella asks expecting a yes to come from her.
"A little, but that's expected.. Elliot is my great Aunt." Elliot walks out of the door to the kitchen and walked up to Lucie.
"Are you ever going to take their order?" She asks in her nasally voice. "You poor soul." Felix says while shaking his head.
"Trust me, after a while you just get used to it. So what can I get for you guys?" Lucie asks while shaking her head in spite of Elliot.
"I would like a ham sandwich please" Ella orders and smiles as she goes to sit down.
"I'll have just a bowl of fruit please." Felix orders and sits down with Ella. "Lucie seems really nice, kinda weird that she's related to Elliot, they're like opposite people." Ella says as she goes onto her phone and waits for her food. "Yeah." Felix says looking up at Jace who was deciding if he should order a hotdog or hamburger. The clammer of a tray being placed next to him makes Felix jump out of his thought and looks to his right where Kenzie and Melody sit down, both having bowls of poutine in front of them. He looks back up at Jace and Luke who had decided to each get one of the two and split it after, making Felix get a pit of sadness in his stomach, remembering how he and Jace did the same.
"I'm not that hungry." He says while pushing the bowl of fruit across the table towards Ella.
"You did the same thing during Lunch, you should at least eat something." Melody says as she watches him, concerned.
"Well I'm sure that if you weren't hungry you wouldn't want to eat either!" Felix snaps back, starting to feel annoyed at everyone in the room. "Sheesh, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.." Mackenzie whispered to Melody who eyed him warily. Jace and Luke took their seats next to Ella and Zoey, and started laughing about something, making Ella question,
"What's so funny?".
"Oh it's nothing, just something that Luke said earlier." Jace answered as he continued to laugh white taking a sip out of his soda, making it sputter and fizz out of the can. Felix rolls his eyes at them and looks over his shoulder out the window.
After everyone finishes their lunch they all head out to continue training with their new equipment. After a battle between Zoey and Ella which ended with Ella on the ground they notice someone walking towards the spare dorm room where Elliot sleeps near the old library.
"Hey! That's Lucie!" Ella says getting up and running towards her leaving her axe behind.
"Lucie!" Ella yells after her slowing down her pace. Lucie turns around at the sound of hearing her name.
"Yes?"
"I just wanted to know if you'd like to hang out with Zoey and I" Ella tries to catch her breath, her hands on her knees.
"I'd love to but I um.. I have to re-arrange my sock drawer." Lucie says quietly looking at the ground, clearly wanting to leave.
"You can re-arrange it later! C'mon we can do some parkour or something. Get to know each other more! It's nice to have another girl here." Ella says as she pulls Lucie's hand to where Zoey was. Together they all start to walk to the parkour, Zoey and Ella chatted away while Lucie held back, playing with the charms of a silver bracelet on her wrist. "So Lucie, you ever done parkour before?" Zoey asks her as she opens the gate and holds it open for them.
"Oh, no I never did anything like that.." Lucie says nervously as she looks up the ten levels of platforms. Ella sensed her uneasiness and tried to reassure her,
"Don't worry, it's not nearly as bad as it looks."
"And trust me, I was scared too when I saw it for the first time." Zoey adds on, making Lucie smile a little.
"Plus if you fall, you'll just land on the air mat." Zoey explains as she makes her way into the first platform, and starts walking across the thinner one. Ella lets Lucie go before her; so she can feel safer in the middle.
"What are those buttons for?" Lucie asks as she passes one of the checkpoints.
"That's the checkpoint, when you pass it, just press the button so it turns green and it'll turn on the elevator." Ella explains while Zoey hits it with the palm of her hand. It made a buzzing sound, followed by the elevator's usual startup noises, and a glowing, bright green button was in place of the red one.
"How come you don't keep the elevators on all the time?" Lucie asked as she walked past the checkpoint, eyeing the small elevator as she did so. "They take up too much electricity according to Jordan." Zoey explains, slight breathlessness in her voice.
"We have an elevator in the main kitchen at our old camp and it's on all the ti-" Lucie cuts off her sentence with a scream as her foot misses the platform and she falls down, crinkling the air mattress as her back hits the material.
"Are you okay!" Ella calls down, hoping she isn't hurt, not only worried for her safety, but there's when Jordan finds out that she fell because of their idea.
"I think so!" Lucie says back up to them and lays down on the mattress for a while, feeling the rushing of adrenaline fade away.
Meanwhile
"Is the library still closed off?" Mackenzie asks Felix and Melody who were sitting with her in the dorms, helping with Toast's cage.
"I don't know, why?" Melody replies as she turns her nose up at the little bits of rabbit droppings falling out into her clothes.
"I wanted to see if there were any books on bunnies so I could see what else she can eat, I feel bad feeding her the pellets all the time." Mackenzie says while she continues to pet Toast who's resting in her lap.
"Just look it up online." Felix says blankly while picking at some of the leftover food in the corner.
"I can't, Jordan said the internets down for the next few hours since Mitch is fixing cables or something. Besides, it probably would be more handy to have around so I can just quickly look and see if it's safe." Mackenzie explains.
"I don't know why it wouldn't be, I don't think they ever said it's off limits we just never use it." Melody says as she finishes putting away the used wood shavings from the cage.
"You guys wanna check it out? It's something to do since we still have thirty till curfew." Mackenzie asks them, hoping it would help distract Felix from his argument with Jace, knowing that it really hurt him. "Shouldn't we be training?" Felix asks them, not too fond of the idea.
"We trained pretty much all day, and anyways we have the rest of today off." Melody says.
"Besides weren't there stories about it being haunted." Mackenzie says in a creepy low voice while moving her hands around in front of her.
"Fine I guess but if there's a ghost I'm letting it eat you guys first." Felix says in a bored tone as he stands up and walks to the door.
"What's wrong with him?" Melody asks Mackenzie when he's out of earshot. "He told all of us remember? The fight with Jace? He stayed in our dorm?" Mackenzie explains with a confused expression.
"You were probably asleep." Mackenzie says to Melody who tries to remember, but can't.
"Thats awful, I always hated getting into fights with you." Melody continued as they walked out of the dorm.
"Yeah me too." Mackenzie said with a sad look to her face.
"Are we going to go or are you going to continue talking about my so interesting life when you think I can't hear you." Felix asked with a voice full of annoyance.
"We're just worried about you." Mackenzie says trying to calm him down a little.
"Yeah because everyone's always worried." Felix said thinking it sounded good at first but after he heard it he didn't think it made sense.
"Whatever let's just go." He said quickly as he walked out the door, wanting the topic of conversation away from him. The two girls exchanged glances before following him to the old library. Mackenzie reached over to the left, feeling the wall for a light switch. "There we go." Mackenzie says as the lights slowly flicker on, revealing lots of dusty book shelves.
"Where would the animal section be?" She asks as she looks around.
"Don't know, try upstairs I remember seeing something up there before." Felix says in an attempt to try and cheer up a little.
Meanwhile
"Do you think he'll stay in here today?" Luke asks Jace who's been avoiding talking about Felix all day.
"It's his choice, all he has to do is apologize for freaking out on me over nothing and we're good." Jace says as he gets a sad feeling in his stomach, remembering their late night talks and trying not to laugh during class while playing the game they made up
"What's Mitch thinking right now?" Jace laughs at the thought but quickly stops and puts the scowl back on his face.
"Well.. I wouldn't say it's all his fault. You kind of were, well, you weren't the nicest either." Luke says, quickly forming a plan on how to try and get them to make up.
"Did you expect me to be nice? Come on! He was literally accusing me of doing crap I didn't do!" Jace says as he remembered the argument more clearly.
"I'm sure he was just mad, come on we all have those moments. Plus, I can't stand seeing my friends fight like this. Not to mention, feel like I'm the cause of it in the first place." Luke says before he walked out of the dorm and looked around the camp, five months here already and he felt as if he still hasn't seen the entire place. He scans the area with his eyes, seeing Zoey and Ella kneeling on a parkour platform, talking to someone on the ground. He looked to the right a little and saw the library, not knowing that someone was already in it. Luke quickly jogged over to the building and walked around to the door, seeing it was slightly ajar. He pushed it open all the way, soon hearing talking from upstairs so he tried to be quiet as he walked around the first floor.
"Was that the door?" Melody asked as she walked toward the stairs a little, trying to see by to the doorway.
"Was what the door?" Mackenzie asks. "That creaking sound. Didn't you guys hear it too?" She asks them while getting a little paranoid.
"Uh oh." Felix says as he pretends to get scared.
"What?" Mackenzie asks him, seeing the expression and starting to get scared.
"What if.. it's the ghost!" He says sarcastically, starting to laugh a little at the change of emotion on their faces. "Yeah total-" Mackenzie stops when they hear a loud banging of what sounded like books hitting the ground downstairs.
"Looks like you got the ghost angry." Melody said while raising an eyebrow at Felix, who wasn't faking the slightly scared expression this time.
"Maybe it's the wind, it could of blew the door open and maybe the door hit a bookshelf or something." Mackenzie explains trying to ease the tension. "Let's just look." Felix says as he starts to walk down the stairs.
"Uh oh.." Luke mumbles as he tripped over an old crack in the floor, hitting a stack of books on a table, sending them, and a cloud of dust off in the air. He heard the talking from upstairs stop for a minute and then resume, followed by footsteps coming down.
"Luke? What are you doing in here?" Mackenzie asks him as she uses the book she found on bunnies to wave the dust out of her face.
"Just never been in here and, you know, wanted to check it out." He says awkwardly as they look at him with unclear expressions.
"What, shouldn't you be with your best friend Jace?" Felix asks him as he walks forward a little so he see him better.
"Look, about that, I didn't want to try and make you feel that I was stealing your best friend. I had no idea it felt that way to you." Luke explains, sounding like he meant it. Felix looks at him for a few seconds before saying; "it's not your fault, you weren't the one ditching your supposed 'best friend'.
"Maybe you don't believe me when I say it, but Jace feels bad. I know it. I know bad acting when I see it." Luke says the last part a bit quieter in case he offends anyone but no one seems to be irritated.
"Then why doesn't he apologize?"
"Because he's just too stubborn to admit he's wrong. Give him some time, I'm sure that it'll wear off eventually." Luke says, making Felix feel better than he did before. A long pause of silence filled the room after that until Mitch announced curfew over the loudspeakers and everyone heads back to the dorms.
