Jirachi gazed into the crystal orb that sat upon the table, thinking. The girl - she was shy but determined, and the boy - he was confident and proud. They would make the perfect team, but Jirachi knew that they won't be able to do it alone...
"Master? Can I come in?" said a familiar voice from behind the large oak doors.
Jirachi waved its hand and the door opened revealing a small yellow creature, carrying a tray with tea.
"Thank you Pikachu," Jirachi said.
"Master - you won't believe it! Another-"
"Earthquake?" Jirachi answered with a smile.
Pikachu shook its head in amazement. "How do you always guess?!"
Jirachi laughed. "They don't call me 'mythical' for nothing, Pikachu." Jirachi's smile faded. "But this is more serious than I thought. The tremors were bigger this time - off the charts. I'm not sure if they will be able to handle it..."
"But Braix and Nin are the ultimate team! They can handle anything!" Pikachu replied determined.
"Not them - the chosen ones. This time it will be beyond anything we have ever seen. The gap has grown larger over the years, and that means more trouble for them. We might have to send in backup." Jirachi shook its head. "I can't believe it's come to this... it's all my fault..." Jirachi whispered.
"No it's not! You can't blame yourself for what happened!" Pikachu said.
The door opened again and in came Eevee - Jirachi's secretary. "They have arrived, sir. Is the portal ready?" Eevee said.
"Just about," Jirachi answered. The trio gazed at the glimmering mirror on the back wall - the shifting hues of blue and purple; an undiscovered galaxy. Jirachi took a deep breath. "It's time."

Serena's POV
"Does anyone know what the answer of 𝜋12²?" Professor Juniper said. She looked around at the students - most who were either half asleep or doodling on their maths textbook.
She sighed. "Anyone besides Serena?"
Serena stifled a groan, but kept her hand high up in the air. Why did she have to be only smart person in the class?
The teacher sighed. "Serena," she said, signalling for the girl to give her answer.
"The answer is 452.389342116930226, but you can just round it up to 452," Serena said in a bored voice.
"Correct!" her teacher said. "Again," she muttered to herself.
Serena ignored the giggles coming from the girls behind her. "Nerd," she heard one of them whisper. Serena tried to stop herself from crying. She knew that voice, and that's why those words hurt so much.
She looked down at her book, and tried to focus on the lesson. Just a few more minutes and the day is over, she kept repeating to herself.
Finally the bell rang, and Serena quickly stuffed her books in her bag and walked out into the hallway to get to her locker. Suddenly she was pushed to the floor, and her books went flying across the room.
Serena looked up angrily at the person who had tripped her. The raven haired boy and his friend gazed down at her, trying to hide their smiles.
"Oh look! It's that nerdy girl!" Gary Oak said, laughing. Serena swallowed down some comments of her own, and stood back up. Ash Ketchum put out a hand to help her. "No thank you," Serena said harshly.
"Geez I was only trying to help," he said, and raised his hands as he backed away.
"I don't need help from anyone, especially a no-good pretty boy like you," she said, prodding him in the chest with her finger.
Ash stumbled back, his mouth twitching with an amused smile. Gary was laughing even more now. Serena's cheeks turned red. Ash handed her one of her books, and she snatched it out of his hands. "I said, I'm fine," she said again, frustrated.
Ash just smiled that playboy smile of his, and leant against the nearest locker. "So what are you going to do about it? I can do whatever I want," he said shrugging.
Serena took a deep breath. "Just leave me alone," she said quietly, and picked up the rest of her books and walked away.

Ash's POV
"Ahahaha! Nice one Ashy boy!" Gary said, slapping Ash on the back.
Ash, however, didn't smile. How could Serena not see that he liked her? But he knew deep down that she would never go out with him. No-good pretty boy. That's exactly what he was, and she knew it too.
"ASH!!!" said a hoard of girls, running towards him.
Ash groaned. Not those stupid fangirls again. "Sorry Oak Tree, but I gotta split. See ya!" Ash said, and raced down the hallway, leaving Gary to deal with the girls. Not that he minded.
After arriving at his home, Ash slowly opened the front door, and was greeted by the delicious smell of dinner.
"Oh Ash! You're home!" said his mother, Delia. "Dinner is almost ready, so go and wash up."
Ash nodded, and dragged his feet up the stairs to his room.
Dumping his bag on his bed, he stared into the mirror. Pretty boy. All those girls only liked him because of his looks. None of them cared about him - the real him. Ash flopped down onto his bed, and stared out the window.
The sky was starting to turn dark, and Ash could see the stars glowing brightly. Sitting up slowly, Ash looked up at the stars, and closed his eyes.
"I wish..."

Serena's POV
Serena gazed out into the sky - the sun was almost set, and she could see the stars. The cool night breeze ruffled her short honey blonde hair, and Serena closed her eyes.
"I wish..."
