Yes yes, I know I said I would only be posting a preview. And I know I've been saying I'd be starting this book 'soon' - sorry for the long wait! Life has certainly been keeping me busy... too busy in fact XD I never actually expected that it would be so popular. But you guys managed to convince me to officially start this book!!! (not that I'm complaining cos I'm totally psyched myself to start writing it)
Also you can all thank the amazing RubiRose15 (GO AND FOLLOW HER NOWWWWW) - she made a whole bunch of fantasmigorical fanart for this, and I really want to share it with you! But the only way I can do that is by starting this story XD
But other than this super long author's note - let's begin!!!
__________________________________________________________Serena's POV
"Hmmmm... let's see. Physics. Chem. Sports, ew. Andddd English. Geez, just a perfect way to finish the day," Serena muttered under her breath as she looked at the timetable stuck on the inside of her locker. She stood on her tiptoes to reach her physics notebook that she had shoved to the back of her locker, and pulled it out - slamming her locker closed with the side of her hip.
She let out a frustrated sigh, blowing her bangs out of her eyes in a huff. She felt a pair of eyes on her, and quickly turned around to see who it was. Her eyes landed on the clique of so-called 'popular' girls, with their dyed hair, big luscious lips, and eyes ringed with mascara. They held one of their ring covered hands over their mouths, whispering to each other - once in a while letting out a high pitched giggle. The sound reminded Serena of a dying whale.
But what really caught her eye was the girl with the brown pigtails and pink bows. Her narrowed green eyes were peering in Serena's direction, but quickly focused their gaze on something else as soon as Serena noticed. Serena bit her lip, clearly annoyed. Just ignore it.
Shaking her head she turned back around and walked down the crowded hallway to her physics class. Familiar faces registered in her mind as she passed people, but were immediately discarded as new ones popped up. Then she came face to face with the last person she wanted to see right then.
"Hey Ser-"
Nopeeee nope nope nope. Not happening loser, Serena thought, and ducked her head down to avoid Ash's gaze. She quickly dodged him, brushing off the hand that had somehow made its way to her shoulder.
"But wait, Serena!" she heard his voice call in the distance. People's heads turned in her direction, and Serena cursed her terrible luck as she ran the rest of the way to her physics class.
Sliding into her desk at the front, Serena let out a small groan, laying her head down on the table. The scraping of chairs alerted her to the teacher's presence, and she stood up with the rest of the class.
"Mornin' class!" Professor Kukui said, cheerfully. No matter what, that man was always happy - and his happiness was infectious. She had never not seen the professor frowning once in the past three years he had taught their physics class.
Although he was an excellent teacher, he had a weird sense of fashion. What kind of teacher wears Hawaiian shorts, sandals, and a lab coat? Yes, a lab coat. No shirt - just the lab coat. It was questionable, but he didn't seem to care.
"So guys, who can tell me what Newton's Second Law is?" he said, sticking his hands in the pockets of his coat. Serena bit her lip nervously, waiting for someone else to answer. She hated being the 'teacher's pet' as they called her - well it's not her fault if she knew the answers to all the questions thrown at them. Professor Kukui glanced around the class, raising an eyebrow. He then pointed to the back of the class. "Clemont! Thanks for volunteering buddy!"
