All the best stories start that way (have you read my Mr. Composure?). I'm starting this little tail... oops, I mean tale... that way too.
Once upon a time, Aren, the mermaid princess, was nice. She longed for wider horizons and deeper oceans, but she was not on a murderous hunt for the killer of her mother.
She met a young boy who became her friend. A human boy who would, many years later, be her ally.
