Chapter 27, David's dad

Do: We don't know how David's gonna end up.

L: What does that mean?

Do: We removed the bullets but we can't exactly see where they hit him. If it hit a muscle in his thigh he may be not able to use that leg. We also can't exactly see where it hit him in his head, he could lose his memory or be disabled. We really don't know. 

L: Oh, Ok thank you.

Do: You can see him, here he is.

She says while pushing a door open. 

L: Thanks.

Do: No problem hun. Good luck.

She leaves. I see David, he's under a blanket but I see a bandage around his head and different tubes around him. I sit down at the chair next to the bed.

L: David, babe. I love you so much. Did you really sacrifice yourself for me?

I keep talking to him although I know he won't answer me.

Then a police officer comes in. He hands me David's phone. "Here, we found this in the basement. We thought you'd maybe want it." He says and then goes out of the room. I put on his phone and see he just got a massage from his mom. It says:

'I know dear. It'll all be fine. Be safe x'

What were they talking about? I open his text massages and scroll through the chat with his mom. I know this is wrong but now I want to know. I scroll and stop by a few days ago.

* Texts between David and his mom*

Mom: David I have to tell you something.

                   D: What mom tell me.

Mom: It's your dad.

                   D: Him? Why what did he do to you?! If he hurts you I'll kill him.

Mom: No no he didn't hurt me, sort of. It's just. He's looking for you

                   D: No! Does he know where I live?

Mom: He looked through my files and saw you adress... I'm so sorry David.

                  D: Shit. Ok I think I can handle him now. I'm not a little kid anymore

                  D: Damn it, but what if he does something to Liza! Or the kids when we have them back?!

Mom: You have to tell her David.

                 D: But se has so much stress already.. I don't want her to freak out again. I'll just protect her. But I'm scared though.

Mom: Ok dear. It'll be ok. be safe love you xx

                D: Love you to. And give a hug to the siblings from me x

*End of texts*

I'm shocked. David's dad used to beat him right? It's so sweet he wanted to protect me.

*2 Days later*

I'm on my way to the hospital. When I enter David's room there's already a man sitting next to the bed. When he sees me he says.

M: Hello! You must be Liza!

L: Eh yes I am. And who are you?

DD: I'm your father law. Are my grandkids with you? I would love to see them.

L: No sorry I left them at home.

DD: Ohw, I'll just see them another time then.

We talk for a little while and David's father seems really nice. Maybe he's changed.
