I told you guys it came in just after a few minutes :D

I had a closer view of the hooded man. His hooding revealed short dark hair on the top of his forehead. Stern yet calm, his dark hazel eyes gazed at us. His short facial outlined his clenched jaw and chin.

Is he trying to help me? Relief flushed down on my nerves.

"You have a problem with us?" The man pulling my hair said.

"Sir, just please let go of the girl,” he asked politely. “It will be the best for the both...."

"Shut up!" The drunk man growled. "Don't get in our way."

My protector didn't waver, standing firm on his station, not letting us pass. This maddened the drunkard.

"You want some of this!" He punched him, yet the hooded man countered by punching against his attacking fist. The drunken man screamed, holding his own fist in agony.

"I think m wrist is broken!" tha man cried in agony.

Swiftly, the hooded man dashed towards me- punching, kicking, and elbowing all the men who came to his way. All of them was no match to him; they all got pushed aside or fell to the ground by his force. He hooked his hands around me (which surprised me very much), carrying me, and made a fast escape, away from the drunkards.

After running for a while, he finally stopped. Strange- he didn't seem to even try to catch his breath after all the running he just did. Maybe he's a runner.

"You're safe now," he said stiffly. He let me down. Turning away, he walked to the other direction, leaving me. I think he "He's just gonna leave me after doing so much?" I thought.

After hearing me accusing him as a stalker, he didn't let that get in the way of him saving me...

Shame mixed with guilt- that’s what I felt.

"Sir!" I called for him. He faced me, turning to me.

" I...I....I" I hesitated. His brows raced in expectation.

"Thank you for saving me- and sorry for judging you earlier," I said, biting my lip.

"My actions are not motivated by what I feel- I neither did I do it because I liked you. I did because it is the right thing to do. So what I really want to say is: Yes, apology accepted."

Silence came in. I think he waited for me to speak because he stared at me expectantly. I didn't know what to say.

"So, may I leave?" He asked politely.

"May I know your name first?"

 "Jordan."

"So Jordan," I said, walking towards him, "I feel like we've gone off to a bad start. And I know I don't deserve your help for how I treated you earlier, yet you did. After the kindness you've shown me, it doesn't feel right to let things between us to remain like this. I don't want us to treat each other like strangers- or even enemies."

"Can we start over?" I added as I stood now in front of him.

I gentle smile came to his face.

 "I like that."

"Friends?" I extended my hand. Grinning, he took it.

"Friends," shaking my hands, he said.

 "It's Kelley by the way.”

My phone vibrated. Digging through my pocket, I opened my phone. Dad message me: where are you? It's almost ten. I would be expecting the keys.

Gosh!

"You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Yeah, I will be one if I go home tonight.

"Sorry- I have to go. My Dad is looking for me.

"Okay."

Turning away from him, I ran towards home. As the distance between me and home get closer, the more my pace slacken. Finally, my house came into view- I paused. When I step in there, Dad will definitely ask me about the keys. He would surely be very angry.

I approached the door- I bit my lip. Dad will be really disappointed. I placed my hand around the door knob; then I found myself pausing. Dismay, washed all over me. All courage I had when I was at school is long gone. I have to face this in one way or another.

I twisted it yet I never pushed it open. I sighed. Entering this door takes more guts than I thought it would.

Our house has a veranda at the door way entrance, and there was a bench there- I slumped on that. Then I felt something that nudge the back pocket of my jeans- what's that? I dig my hand in my pocket. I felt something familiar. Gosh, it couldn't be.

When I looked at it, I realized that I am the most stupid girl on Earth. It's the car keys!
