Nothing Like Routines

New York City isn't as lavish as everyone likes to think. Thanks to all the people in it, of course, there's litter everywhere. Even though there are trash cans everywhere. There are a crap ton of...interesting smells omitting from god knows where. People are rude, and tourist don't know how to walk or cross the damn street.

New York City just isn't as lavish as everyone likes to think.

But it's where I was born. It's where I live. And it's the city I love.

So despite the daily annoyances, I still love it to pieces.

Mind you, I'm thinking all of this while frantically trying to pickup all the stuff that fell out of my baby bag. And not a single person is trying to help.

Yeah, I totally love this place...

I reach over to pick up one of Peyton's bibs, but someone's foot got to it before I could.

"Do you fücking mind?!" I yell at the prick with music blasting in his ears. He just side eyes me and continues across the street.

No seriously. I absolutely love this city.

"Rayvn?" I look up to see Malia rushing over to me.

"Hey." I breathe  a sigh of relief when she stoops down to help me pick everything up.

"You look....rough." She says with a slight smirk.

"I know! My boss called me like 30 minutes ago begging me to come in early. So I'm trying to haul äss and of course I drop the baby bag while weaving through the morning rush." I explain. To say my morning routine was completely thrown off was an understatement.

I keep the twins and my self on a pretty strict schedule. And thanks to that äss hat yesterday, all of our sleep schedules were fücked. Add in my boss calling in the middle of me nursing the twins and then having to rush out. Yeah, I was feeling pretty rough too.

Thankfully I alternate between two baby bags that I pack in advance.

"Well it's a good thing I saw you, clumsy."

We finish picking up all the stuff that fell out of the bag, and head into the building the kids day care is in.

"So your routine got thrown off?" Mailia guessed.

"Yes." I seethed. "I swear to everything, if this new co-founder doesn't show up again, I'm gonna loose my shït. I've never heard of anyone acting so unprofessional before. Aren't you suppose to call, send an email, send a freaking bird even, if you aren't going to show up? Especially to a meeting that YOU set up?"

"Girl," She said trying not to laugh. "You really need to chill out. You've been stressing out about this for a month. And yeah, that's ridiculous. This is the guy that's gonna be running a company?"

"I mean, you would too if you were being promoted to the new Co-founders assistant, whom you don't know anything about." Our company was keeping everything extremely low key. Only a small team of the higher ups knew who he was. Hence my stressing. "I really don't want to deal with another bïtchy or douchey boss. I just want to get the first meeting and all of the formalities out of the way, and finally have more creative freedom."

"I know!" Malia said happily. She knows I've been busting my ass since I started as an intern at my job. "I'm so proud and happy for you. You really deserve this Ray. So stop stressing so much."

"After today, hopefully I can." I said just as the elevator doors opened to our floor.

Miss Libby and Miss Noel greeted the twins while Malia gently shook her mini me awake.
