Markimoo's P.O.V
After I sent Luna to take a shower I began to set the dining table. I made tiny lasagne bits I found on the internet. They're super easy to make and one of Luna's favourite foods. The reason I was making one of her favourite foods is because I had some, well, special news.
By the time the table was set and the food was ready, Luna came running into the kitchen dressed in an oversized shirt and legging type shorts. "Oh you made my favourite. Thanks dad." She exclaimed, jumping into my arms. I hugged her laughing, before setting her down in her seat. I sat down opposite of her and began to serve her. "Dad, what do you need to tell me?" She asked biting into one of the lasagne bites. "You know me too well. Ha, well, you know how Ethan has been helping me out a lot with editing and stuff yeah, well I asked him if he wanted to move in with us." The room stayed quiet for a moment before Luna put down her fork and looked at me. "That's cool. Tyler is cool." I nod my head in agreement. "And I may have also arranged a date with someone." I blurted out looking at the 10-year-old across from me. "Wait what?" "Her name is Tory, I met her on a dating website, she seems really nice?" I wasn't sure how she was feeling. Her green eyes looked up at me from her position. We just looked at each other for a while before the tears began to form in her eyes. She pushed herself away from the table, making the chair fall down behind her. Her body flinched from the noise but she ran past me and up the stairs into her room I assume. I stayed seated at the table for a while longer.
I suddenly felt something on my thigh and looked down. Chica looked up at me as well, her eyes staring into my soul. "What was I supposed to do? Not tell her?" I ask the blond golden retriever aimlessly running my hand through her fur. "Yeah I know you're a dog but I was hoping you'd magically give me some advice here." I take a deep breath before slowly pushing my chair back, getting up to pick up the other chair and making my way up the stairs.
I knocked on my daughter's door but got no reply. "Luna come on, what should I have done? Not told you? That would've made the whole thing worse, wouldn't it?" Still no reply. "I'm coming in." I tell her before pushing the door open. The room was dark apart from the light on her nightstand. There was a lump on the bed hiding under the covers. I approached the bed and crawled onto it. "Luna, can we please talk about this?" "What's there to talk about. You're getting sick of me so you're going out replacing me with Ethan and whatever her name is." She spat still hiding under the blanket. "Baby, I'm not replacing you. I would never think of replacing you. But I just need to get out there, I need to find someone who'll take care of me when you're off in college. What am I going to do then?" "Then I won't go to college. I'll take care of you, dad." "Honey." I begin to laugh a bit. "It's just one date. That doesn't mean anything ok?" "Ok." She whispered in defeat. "I love you, dad." "I love you more, sweaty."
Luna's P.O.V
Two weeks past and dad hasn't mentioned his date at all. We have been talking a lot about Ethan moving in with us. Dad set up a bed in the spare room, along with a dresser, a desk and few other things that Ethan needed. Tomorrow was the day we're picking him up from the airport. In the mean time I've been watching a bunch of his videos just so I got an idea of who he was. I mean I've talked to him before and he's not a complete stranger to me but you never know. "Luna, come downstairs." Dad full on yelled. I dropped the IPad onto the bed and made my way downstairs. "Yes?" I whisper as I come into the living room. "How many times do I have to tell you to not leave your stuff lying around?" I stayed quiet. "Please, please just pick up after yourself ok?" I nod my head. With that I make my way to the living room table picking up my hoodie and socks along with a couple of other things I was using yesterday. "Sorry dad." I murmur as I walk past him and back into my room.
A couple hours later there's a knock on my door. "Hey sweaty. So tomorrow is gonna be kinda busy. I have a meeting in the city which you need to join because afterwards we have lunch with a bunch of guys before we pick up Ethan from the airport. Then the day after we have YouTube Rewind." "I have homework to finish anyway." I reply. "Oh and I have to go to the office to film couple videos. Wanna come?" "YES!" I exclaim jumping up from my position on the floor. I quickly run to my closet to grab a black hoodie and follow dad down the stairs.
We climb out of the car and walk into the building. I followed dad into one of the offices and watched him sit down and turn on his computer. I exited the room and walked into the main room where collabs were filmed. I sat down on the coach and began playing on the IPad I brought from home.
I heard the door open and dad beginning to talk to someone. I got up from my position and followed the voices. Dad and a man, who I couldn't really see, were standing in the hall way talking to one another. "Oh Luna, good that you showed up. Remember Matthias?" I nod my head. "Hey Luna, that's so weird to say. My little girls name is Luna as well." Dad nodded before they disappeared into the big film room. I looked out through the glass part next to the door. A family of 4 were getting out of a big car. All had smiles on their faces as they all talked amongst each other.
