Luna's P.O.V

Today was going so well. After dad told me and Charlie that we were going to Disney land with Sean and meet dad's girlfriend I was actually kind of excited. Once there Amy greeted dad with a kiss and the rest of us with hugs. When she hugged me she told she was so happy to finally meet me and that dad had told her so many good things about me. I told her that I too was glade to finally meet her and that she seemed to make dad happy. The rest of the day was spent eating and going on rides.

But now we were here, in the hospital. Dad had gotten a call as we were leaving. Mum and Cole were in a car accident and that they had no one else to call. Of course me and dad drove there, as fast as we could. But once we arrived dad put me in the waiting room and left to talk to a nurse and when he came back, he pulled me into a hug. I knew they were dead. My heart began to race and my lungs had trouble filling with air.

A nurse soon came back and told us to please follow her. She walked to the children's part of the hospital and that's when I remembered mums baby. The nurse walked us over to a gigantic window and pointed a little baby on the far left corner. It was mum's. The baby was tiny and it was wrapped in thousands of lairs of blankets and it had needles and tubes coming out of its body. I began to cry again.

The nurse took dad aside and now we were sitting in front of the big window with a piece of paper in our hands. The paper had two options. We could either adopt the baby or let the baby be adopted but never get to hear from it again. I sat curled into dad's side as he ran his hand through my hair making my heavy eyes heavier. "What do I do?" I heard dad whisper as his hand left my hair and began tugging at his own.

When I woke up again dad was standing and looking at the baby. His hands were pressed against his own chest and his body was shaking. I got up and pushed myself between him and the window. He picked me up, letting me wrap my legs around his waist as he cried into my shoulder.

Dad handed the piece of paper to the nurse and thanked her. "Alright. Are you sure this is the decision you want to make? If you need help handling the trauma, we have people you and your daughter can talk too." Dad only nodded again before taking my hand. I glanced back down the hallway where the baby was. I sighed before letting dad pull me to the car park. I got into the car and no one spoke the entire ride back to the house.

Once there we both went into our bedrooms without speaking to ether Ethan nor Charlie. Sean wasn't here so we didn't even have to bother with him. After a while my door opened and Ethan came in with a thick blanket and a pillow. "Charlie keeps snoring; can I sleep in here?" he asked with a small smile. I knew Charlie doesn't snore but I let him climb into my bed any way. "What happened in the hospital, Mark hasn't said a thing." He whispered quietly. "Mum and Cole, they... there was a car accident and... Mum won't be picking me up anymore, neither will Cole." I whisper back, my voice being caught in my throat as I tried to explain to Ethan what happened. He didn't say anything, instead he pulled me into his side, letting me rest my head on his chest and he ran his hand up and down my back. "And the baby, the baby survived. And the nurse... the baby is alive." I manage to say. "I don't even know if it's a girl or a boy. I didn't ask and now..." I began to full on sob as Ethan sat up and pulled me onto his lap. I grabbed onto his t-shirt and cried into his shoulder.

We finally went to bed at 6am. Me and dad came home at around 2am. Dad came into the room at around 1pm. He gently woke us up and asked us to come downstairs. We did. No one really spoke as we sat around the dining table. Charlie was there too. He had his head resting on Ethan's shoulder, holding his hand.

"Are you sure that's what you want to do?" Ethan asked, looking at dad who only nodded his head before reaching his hands out for me to hold. And I did. "Amy is coming over later. I need to go back to the hospital and I need to organize the funeral and the baby." He whispered the last bit.

Amy did come at around 3. She and dad left half an hour later. In the meantime, me, Charlie and Ethan began cleaning out the small storage room. It was actually not that small. There was a window on two sides of the room.

We sorted through the things and threw out everything we didn't need. The rest of the things, we managed to store in the garage and on top of my closet. We then vacuum cleaned the floor and washed the windows. We went to the store and bought paint and we painted half the room before dad and Amy came back. Dad walked in first and smiled as he saw the light blue walls. We spent the rest of the night painting the room and ordering a crib, a stroller, a baby seat and a high chair.

At dinner dad told us that mum's baby was a boy and that he didn't have a name yet. "While I was there, mum said that she really liked the name Crow or Louis." I say remembering the day mum told me she was 6 months pregnant. I don't know how I never noticed it. She always wore really flowy things and I just don't think I ever looked at her that closely. And I did only see her a couple times during this time. "I feel like Crow would be a really cool name. Luna and Crow, both very cool names." Dad said more to himself but we all agreed. "There we go. Little Crow." Dad smiled for the first time that night. Amy, who was sitting next to him looked slightly sad. "Amy can be his mummy. I mean like when you're here. It's important for babies to have both a mum and dad." I say with a smile. She looked at me and I could've sworn I saw tears form in her eyes.

"Alright then. We have around 2 months to get everything baby ready."
