TwitchTwitch watched as Raz pummelled the guy, stupid enough to challenge him, mercilessly.
Twitch understood Raz, understood the anger, the disappointment and the sadness that Raz hid behind every punch.
"My turn." Twitch stood up and walked near the ring. He chucked his shirt to a side and flexed his arms, easing the taut muscles.
"Twitch, my man, where you been?" Raz asked as he connected his fist with Twitch's. They gave each other a one-armed hug. Raz was the closest thing to a friend.
"Here and there. Let's fight." Twitch wrapped the gauze around his arm as Raz cracked his knuckles, chuckling.
Raz and him existed in the now, everything else faded away. They danced around each other, fists raised and jaws clenched. The thing about Raz was that he was a thinker, he thought about where to strike next rather than just blindly bashing around and that's what made Raz dangerous.
Twitch dodged as Raz tried striking him with a blow. Twitch got distracted for a second when he noticed Erica watching them. Raz took the opportunity to punch Twitch right across the jaw.
Staggering back, Twitch surveyed Raz's body. He knew Raz had a weak knee from a previous fight. Twitch always fought dirty anyway. Twitch went straight for the kill.
Giving Raz a punch in the gut, he aimed his kick to Raz's left knee and kicked hard. Raz yelled in pain and held up his hands. Surrender.
Twitch winked at him while Raz flipped him off. He jumped out of the ring and made his way to where Erica was standing. Her emerald eyes were narrowed and her lips pursed.
"What are you doing here?" Twitch asked, coldly. "Get out."
Erica smirked. "Why? Do I make you uncomfortable? Can't keep your eyes off me?"
"Erica." He growled, feigning calm when all he wanted to do was punch Erica's smirk off her face. "What are you doing here?" He asked with exaggerated composure.
"I got you a date. Thank me later." Erica said, her smirk never leaving her face.
"A date?!" He repeated, incredulous. "Why? With whom?"
"With that cute little girl who made you laugh, Tahlia. As for why, I'm not entirely sure. Just make sure you dress nice and arrive at Du Point at 8 pm sharp."
Before he could even comprehend what the fuck had just happened, Erica tossed her silky caramel hair backwards and walked off. He growled again. Goddamned, meddling Erica.
Twitch felt stupid as he had opted for blue button down shirt and slacks and made his way to Du Point- a desolate area where Erica and him used to watch the sunrise from. Weirdly enough, he considered Du Point a place sacred to Erica and himself and wondered why Erica had wanted the date to be there.
When Twitch reached the spot, he wasn't surprised to find nobody there.
He rolled his eyes, Erica was probably laughing her butt off at this clever prank. How could one human being be such a pain in the ass, Twitch wondered. Honestly, that girl is so-"I didn't think you'd actually turn up." A voice came from behind him and Twitch's breath caught as he turned around. Tahlia.
Her short dark hair framed her face which had virtually no makeup. She wore a white summer dress that floated in the light breeze. Her hazel eyes seemed to glow in the moonlight.
"Me neither." He said, slowly walking up to her. "I thought Erica was playing some sort of witty little prank on me."
They were so close to each other now, their breaths mingling. He inhaled the fruity scent she had on.
"You still came though." Tahlia murmured.
"I still came." He murmured back and then they were kissing and words weren't required and Twitch sighed against her soft, soft lips.
"Why?" She asked, resting her forehead against his chest. "You practically kicked me out of your apartment."
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm tired of being Twitch. I'd like to become Marcus again and you make me want to be Marcus." Tahlia didn't reply and he tightened his fingers around her waist.
"Why did you come though? I did almost kick you out of my apartment and I'm a prick. Not exactly the most likeable guy." He asked and she laughed into his chest.
"Um, you see, your friend can be a teensy tiny bit intimidating. I nearly wet my pants because of her." Tahlia said and then looked embarrassed. Twitch found everything about her endearing.
"Come on." He said and pulled her into his arms as they lay down on the grass.
"This is such a cheesy first date kind of idea. Laying on the grass, watching the stars, getting drunk on kisses?" Tahlia said and giggled.
Twitch absentmindedly played with her hair. It wasn't long like Erica's but was equally soft. Why was he thinking about Erica? He shook his head.
"Remind me to shake Erica next time. Maybe of she gave me some kind of a hint, I would've gotten some food. I am pretty hungry." He said, his tone suggestive.
Through his shirt, Twitch felt her warm face and he chuckled. Adorable.
"You're going to ruin me, you know?" Tahlia said and punched his chest.
"And you are going to save me." He muttered.
