Things were weird between me and Charlie. We hadn't talked since that night and I knew that was not going according to my contract.

So, I had to make things straight. No matter how I felt.

I took in a deep breath as I went and knocked on his dorm room door. I was nervous and I didn't know what was going through his mind but I knew I had to try.

After a few minutes, he opened the door and I sighed in relief. "Hey." I greeted with a smile. He nodded in acknowledgment as he opened the door wider for me to enter.

I looked around the room as I was inside and I observed that his room was super tidy. Impressive.

"So, what are you doing here?" He asked me as he looked at me with questioning gaze. I gulped in nervousness and took in a deep breath.

"Are you ignoring me?"

There I said it.

I saw Charlie's eyes widened in surprise as he heard me say this. He opened his mouth but closed it again and I got my answer.

He was.

"Look, its different. I don't know what to say to you or whatever. So, it's better if stay away from each other." He told me with a nonchalant shrug. I looked at him in disbelief. "No. That's just something a coward would do. We can pretend that the kiss never happened-"

"Don't you get it, Ashley? The kiss did happen. We cannot pretend that it did not and you're running away from the topic." I sighed.

"You wanna talk about it? Fine. So, lets talk." I told him with a raise eyebrow. I sat down on the edge of the bed as he sat down on his chair and I motioned for him to start talking.

I heard him take in a deep breath. "Okay, so, the kiss. Well, I don't know how to explain it to you. It just happened." I didn't know what hurt me more- him not reciprocating my feelings or that the kiss didn't mean anything?

I bit my lip as I continued to watch him. "I know I sound like a douche bag but I don't want to keep you hoping for something that will never happen." That's when I gasped in surprise. "How conceited are you exactly? You think that I am hoping for you to declare your feelings for me and sweep my feet off of the ground and tell me that you love my kisses? Well, sorry for disappoint you Charlie. I am not. And I wanted nothing more than to be your friend. That's all I wanted. But you just showed me how big of an egoistic jerk you actually are. So now? I want nothing to do with you." I told him as anger ran through my veins. It was the truth. I knew that Mr. Ross would kill me if he got to know about this but somebody had to teach him a lesson.

I got up from the bed before walking toward his door and before I could open the door, he stopped me.

"I am sorry, okay?" I turned around to face him as I scanned his face. Did he mean? Probably not?

"Charlie how about we just be friends and never talk about that kiss? Lets just forget about it." I suggested with a raised eyebrow. That's not what I wanted but it was something that was much needed.

He nodded his head before saying, "Okay. And I am sorry." I gave him a small smile before leaving his room.

I had no idea how exactly I felt about this. Maybe it was for the best. And this would make things so much easier for me.

I continued to walk to my dorm before I was stopped when I heard my name being yelled. "Ashley! Wait up!" I turned around and saw Charlie jogging toward me. I looked at him in confusion. "What's wrong?"

"There is this party that I am going to and I wanted you to come with me." I shrugged before saying, "Sure." His eyes widened in surprise as he asked, "Really?" I nodded while laughing and he told me to get ready in fifteen minutes before he comes to pick me up.
