Night was approaching and Sarah grew tired. Somehow the owl that once sat at her bedroom window in her old home, had made its way here, always watching and only ever leaving when the sun rose, and returning again when it set. Somehow Sarah felt it's protection, and tonight, she felt the need to say thank you.
Sarah walked to the window and pushed it up, the owl turned to face her. Sarah saw it's pure white feathers, with it's flashes of silver and gold shining in very few places. It's eyes almost looked human, deep black, but with a sort of deep blue within them.
"Hello," Said Sarah "Looks like its just you and me now, huh?" The owl looked away, it was as if it had nodded in a way, but Sarah knew that to be impossible. "You remind me of someone, Jareth was his name. I think I'll call you that." The owl shot a look up to her, faster than she could have blinked, it made her move back, frightened in case it attacked her.
Suddenly, the owl flew into her room and knocked an old book from one of the shelves. Sarah knew it all too well, it was a play, called "Labyrinth" she thought it was her inspiration for her novel, but she also knew it was because of her dream. Sarah picked up the book and the owl flew to stand on her bed, she looked at it suspiciously and it seemed to be doing the same.
"I'd wish for you to speak to me, but that would be insane." Sarah began, "But I suppose a lot of my life seems insane." Sarah put the book back on its shelf and turned back to the bed, only to find the owl had disappeared and in it's place sat a crystal. A crystal like the ones Jareth would taunt Sarah with. She picked up the crystal and stared into it, straining her eyes in the low light. It took a minute for Sarah to realise that she could see something within the crystal, it looked like the throne room where Jareth kept her baby brother Toby.
A creature was moving in the picture, a goblin Sarah guessed. It rushed around the room, dusting and polishing, as if preparing for a party. Sarah found this peculiar and put the crystal in a drawer in her dressing table. When Sarah slipped into bed she heard a noise coming from the drawer, she focused her hearing and tried to make out the words,
"Sarah!"
