MY STORY

The meeting

After giving my speech at the assembly as is the norm for the new head prefect boy and girl to give this speech on the last day of exam. My speech was great and the students really enjoyed it.
Like I was saying I Peyton and Tracy spent the rest of the day at my house before they headed to their residents at night time .
We are in school today because we are part of the committee meeting organising the prom and graduating ceremony . In my school its the norm for 11th graders to organise the events with the social prefect as the head of the meeting .
Let's close our eyes for the opening prayer " Tolu the social prefect announced with a tiny voice . You are wondering why we prayed right? . In Nigerian Christian schools , we pray before and after anything. Its the norm.
Tolu finished the prayer and the meeting started .  "The purpose of the meeting for today is to choose the theme and to put people in charge of the organising of the different activity that is to take place . I hope you guys would cooperate with me and make this years prom the best in the city this year " Tolu said in a rush .. "I think the theme should be holly wood "Kemi squealed loudly . we all gave her disapproving looks . After much deliberation we decided to go for masquerade since it wasn't common in Nigeria. I, and Peyton were to design the hall and give the invitation cards to our seniors . kemi was to make the food and drinks arrangements as the food prefect .  Tolu job is to oversee all the programs at the event . Tracy is to make arrangements for the awards of the night .
The specs of being in the committee is the automatic access to senior prom with your date . "time to go guys" tolu shouted not happy about our leaving her out of the conversation about the a popular TV show she hates .
After closing prayer Tolu practically rushed out . we all signed loudly knowing she was going to prepare for another of her famous heart breaking dates.
"Do you think she knows that the boy doesn't like her " Peyton asks a very stupid question as usual . I don't know why I still love her. We are headed to Tracy's place for the night to be able to escape my annoying brother .
Tracy suggested we watched a movie and get about the planning for the prom.
We were still deliberating on the movie to watch as we entered the car park . I was still laughing at the fact that Tracy hasn't watched the fault in our stars and wants us to watch it with her when they both stiffened beside me holding my hands tightly in a protective manner. I looked up to the sight of Tobi leaning by my car with his head bent. He looked so sexy in his jeans and top but he had this downcast look that made wonder why he of all people was by my car . I decided to meet him after assuring my friends I was fine. I made my way towards him with different thought of what he wanted from me or maybe something tragic happened to my family since we have been neighbors since God knows when. What could it be ? I thought as my leg moved faster than I expected .
