Everytime when I see a burger a face of a girl comes to my mind, which sucks me into deep guilt. The incident relating it happened a few years ago.

It was a fine evening me and my family were coming back from fair. Car was stopped in traffic signal. A girl approached us and begged for something to fill her stomach. A girl of 10 or maybe11, she had a very beautiful face which was hidden under a layer of dirt and sweat, her green eyes showed her innocence, she was so thin that her bones were projecting out. My eyes went to the burger which we bought from fair. We all ate our burger till our stomach filled and this was extra. Sure no one is going to eat it later,so instead of throwing away it's better to give her, but before I could give her she left, my dad shooed her away. My eyes followed her and saw how she was begging to others and how people were responding her, some people were looking at her as if she was a straydog which was infected with some disgusted contagious disease. I really wanted to get out of car and give her my burger but my pride didn't allowed it, I wait her to turn around and come to me or at least look at me but she was moving ahead. she then went towards an expensive car ,the person inside the car already looked frustrated and was shouting in his phone. Mentally I begged her to not go there but unfortunately she couldn't hear me and went towards him, knocked his car window and said something, first he didn't respond. So she again knocked and begged, he opened his window and glared at her and then cursed her loudly. Even I flinched at his harsh words. The girl got very scared and walk backwards in fear ,suddenly a bike from nowhere came and hit her. She flew upwards and fell down on road with a thud. I watched it with wide eyes, I was not able to process anything and I felt numb. The girl lied their helpless in the pool of her own blood, she was not moving  . The view of the girl was later obstructed by people gathering around her. Since the signal turned green the biker who knocked her down sped off. Ambulance came after a while and took her to hospital. The road was then cleared and we left.

It's been two year since this incident happened. I travel through that same route many times and have stopped in that same signal but i never saw that face. I still don't know whether that girl survived or not but i do know that if had dared to get out of the car or at least called her to give her the burger then she would not had to suffer those abuse and pain.
