Chapter 8 I still love him

I lied on my bed and cried for who knows how long when I heard my window opening.

I sat up and saw Riley standing right their with tears streaming down her face. She sat next to me.

"Why did you keep this from me? If this was bothering you why didn't you speak up? We never keep anything from each other!"
"Riley I care about you too much to hurt you, he loves you Riley not me." I said almost sobbing. "I was so sick of the whole triangle thing and someone had to step back." I said closing my eyes.

"so you lied that you didn't have feelings for him anymore and you kept it in this whole time?" Riley said
"Yea, it hurts"
Riley pulled me in a massive hug and we both cried
"I'm sorry Maya"

"so now what are we going to do? everyone knows including Lucas."
Riley sighed "I know. We should probably just breakup."
"No Riley I can't let you do that"

"Riley! I don't want you to break up with him because of me!"
"but you did that at New Years Maya"
I sighed "yea that is true."
"So it's time I do the same"
I lifted my head up "Riley please don't-
"I think I'll be okay"

Riley smiled "If I broke up with Lucas I don't think things will be different between us. We don't really act like a couple that much when we're dating. We act more like friends. And when you guys weren't together you guys acted like a couple"

I blushed "yea I guess"
"So this time I'm letting you have him. Because you stepped back for me. I want you to be with him. he loves you and you know it"

tears streamed down my face "I hope he does"

Riley smiled "Thank you"
I smiled back "What are friends for"

We suddenly heard my window opening again and came in Friar and Minkus. They both looked down at me
"Why would you keep this from us?"
Farkle said.

Lucas sat down next to me.
"Maya you told me to go to Riley. You told me you didn't have feelings for me anymore. Why would you do that?"

I started to cry again "I don't know I'm sorry!"
"I miss you Lucas. I really miss you!"
