"Dad I invited jack over for dinner." I say.
"Who is jack Ava?" My mom cuts in.
"Uh the guy who's here literally all the time, you guys are the worst parents ever. You didn't notice all the times he's spent the night here?"
My dad speaks up "well I'm sure I've seen him before, though we didn't really meet. Dinner should be fun."

"Well nice to officially meet you man, sorry about  the times you visit there's always something chaotic going on." My dad laughed.

Moments later, dinner was being passed around the table and everyone was engaged in conversation.

"So are you the same age as Avaline?" My mother and father say in unison.

"Clara, Dad, why do you guys always say my whole first name?" I snap.
"Uh, yeah me and Ava are both 18. My birthday is actually in 1 week though." Jack responds with a mouth full of cheese.
"That great, You guys are so fitting for each other. I haven't seen Avaline this happy in years!"

My mom had called me Avaline again and I was about two seconds from Screaming at her.

Since dinner was pretty much over, Jack had offered to help my parents with the dishes, but got rejected.

I invited Jack upstairs, so I could talk to him about the anonymous messages I was getting.

After looking at my phone for a few seconds, Jack looks me in the eyes and tells me that it'll be okay.

"It may be Holly and Tyler, It wouldn't be their first time doing this." Jack reached down to hold my hand, leaving ok it a soft kiss.

"Jack what's going on? Tell me please, why would they be threatening me?"

"Because I slept with Holly the beginning of the year, and when I ended our thing, she told me she got actual feelings for me. But I told her I didn't like her that way, she told her best friend Tyler and now that we're together she wants us apart." Jack explained "but please don't give in to it that's what she wants, plus the "thing" she's going to leak is obviously a bluff."

"Uh.. so basically you slept with a evil bitch, she caught feelings for you and now she hates me because she can't have you?" I ask almost bursting into laughter.

"Wait your not mad? That's a relief Bc I want to have sex tonight." Jack says while playing with a strand of my hair.
"Uh no mister, we have no time for that! What if the "thing" isn't a bluff. And what if I don't follow their rules and those girls leak it?"

Jack huffs at my sudden anxiety and pulls me in for a kiss on the cheek, "Avaline, it won't okay? I love you, nothing will happen and I'll make sure of it."

Jack just said he loved me, should I say it back? Like what if it was just in the moment thing.
