Cassandra's POV
The plan was to go to my house to watch movies, but as soon as I agreed to this double date bullshit Laura dragged me to her house to get me all dressed up as if I was her favorite doll.
She pulled a nice pastel blue dress out of her closet "this is perfect" she whispered to herself.
"I'm not wearing a dress!" I laughed.
"Why not? this is cute, not too fancy" she argued.
"Laura, we are literally going to applebee's. I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt and that's final."
"Aw, c'mon Cass, don't you wanna look nice?" I give her a glare that says it all "okay, okay... let me do your make up then?"
"I don't know Laura, I don't want to look like I care a lot" I'm being forced to go and if I'm being forced I don't want to have a good time, I just want to be moody and bitchy until it's over.
"Would you just put some eyeliner and stop being a bitch about this? I know that you agreeing to come to this double date is something extremely hard for you but I've known you since I can remember and trust me, you need this, so please, just, pleaaaseee be nice?" she says all in one breath.
"Damn it, okay" I say as I snatch the make up bag out of her hands and hide my smile as I apply my signature subtle wing and mascara look.
As Laura drives to Applebee's, I look out the window and am lost in my train of thoughts. By the time we arrive, early as we knew we were, I've decided that this poor guy is probably being dragged into this as well and he has no fault, so why should be a bitch to him? I'm going to be nice and polite until this thing is over, it's the least I can do.
Laura is sitting across me in a small booth in the back of the restaurant, but as she literally jumps from her seat, I know the boys have arrived.
She hugs Bryan as they haven't seen each other in a year, not a day, but what can I say, they're in love. I find myself awkwardly crossing and un-crossing my legs; I don't know if I should get up or wait for this said "Dylan" to just shake his hand? What kind of name is Dylan, anyway? Isn't that what the baby in 'The Rugrats' was called? Baby Dyl? Hah, Dyl. sounds funny if you say it a couple of times. Dylan Dyl. Dylan. D--
"Uhm, hi" he interrupts my ridiculous thoughts. Why am I so nervous?
"Hi" I quietly respond and look over to Laura and Bryan, who are intensely staring at us as if we were some science experiment. "umm, wanna sit down.... Dylan?"
"Yeah, thanks, you can call me Dyl" I slightly giggle as I remember my thoughts from only seconds ago, "or Dylan, you don't have to call me Dyl, no one calls me that anyway" he says as he nervously cracks his knuckles. I find it quite funny that he's nervous, I'm not laughing at him, I just find it cute.
What am I thinking?
"Dyl, I like it" I smile as he does the same.
He's not so bad, he has big brown eyes and a cute little nose. Easy on the eyes, to say the least.
I think I'm zoning out when I find those big eyes expecting an answer from me, "huh?" I ask
"your name? Bryan didn't bother to tell me."
"Oh! I'm Cassandra, but my friends call me Cass"
"Cassie?"
"No. Nobody calls me Cassie"
"Oh, sorry." he looks back at his fingers again.
I do the same and wait for him to start the conversation again. I'm about to ask him a stupid question like what's his favorite meme when the waitress comes and asks if we're ready to order. Thank God.
We order and Laura and Bryan are lost in each other. See, this is what I feared, now good old Dylan and I are just going to be sitting here for hours making awkward small talk and we're going to have an awful night.
"You like cats?" he surprises me by asking. I'm pleasantly surprised.
"Love them. I have two"
"Really? What are their names?"
"You're going to think I'm stupid"
"Oh, come on, just tell me" he smiles, predicting that my cats have stupid names. They do. They really do.
"One is Oliver" he has this look on his face as if he doesn't understand my previous embarrassment, "and the other one's Olivia" he laughs.
I think I like his laugh.
"No way! Why would you do that?" he's really laughing now and it's contagious.
"I was five!" I laugh along.
This was an ice breaker for us and we actually had a very lovely night. Too bad I'll never see him again.

HELLO PEOPLE it has been SO long since I updated and I really have no excuse but to say I'm a lame and very slow writer. I start college in two weeks so I'm kind of busy but I'm going to try to find time to write because this story is my baby and I love it so much. Also, Dylan and Cassandra are both a part of me, so if you think they're weird sometimes, it's because I'm weird all the time.
Protect Troye Sivan at all costs.
