Chapter 6: Flashbacks

Aurora's P.O.V.

"I've missed you, too!" I threw my arms around his neck and hugged Tyler to me. He hugged me back and I started to tear up.

"This... Is the boy you were calling out for earlier, isn't it?" Break said as he looked at us. Oz saw what was going on and called Alice to stop. Bayard must have realized something was going on, because he stopped as well.

"Yeah, but that was just a hallucination," I muffled into Tyler's shirt as I started to cry.

"Hallucination?" Sharon asked as she kneeled down next to Tyler and I. I nodded as a reply.

"Oh, you still get those?" Tyler asked through tears. I broke out of the hug and looked at him.

"Yeah, and they've been worse ever since you left," I smiled a bit through my tears.

"Really, now? Then I'm just gonna have to stop leaving you," Tyler smiled back at me and laughed, "We can be best friends again, just like how we were when we were kids."

"Um, sorry to burst your bubble, but we're going to have to arrest you now," Break got some rope out and tied Tyler's hands behind his back.

"Take me if you must, but I'm not gonna do you any good for too long," Tyler gave me a devious smile like he always did when he had a bad idea. I always loved those bad ideas, even if they got us in trouble. It was just our thing.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked Tyler. I hoped that he would give me an answer like "I'm gonna escape," or something, but he didn't.

"Well you see, I'm almost out of time," He said instead with that same smile smeared on his face.

"Huh? Out of time? What do you mean by that?" I cocked my head to the side and looked into Tyler's green eyes.

"Didn't they tell you? All illegal contractors have a seal on their chest that looks like a clock. Once that clock makes one full rotation, the contractor is sent into the depths of Abyss," Tyler replied.

"What?! I finally find you again and now you're telling me that you are going to die soon?!" I yelled at Tyler, the tears coming back, "How could you do this to me?! It was already hard enough letting you leave five years ago, but now you're going to leave me again?!" Just then, I felt a sharp pain on the left side of my chest. My breathing started to quicken and I fell on the ground.

"Oh no, no, no, no, no! Aurora's an illegal contractor, too?!" Tyler yelled as he jumped up, his hands still tied behind his back.

"You really are a dumb kid, aren't you? If she wasn't an illegal contractor, how else do you think she might've gotten here?" Break calmly said to Tyler as everybody watched me flail around on the ground.

"She isn't really that tolerant of pain! You barely hit her and she cries! I wouldn't even know how she could survive this!" Tyler yelled at Break and tried to motion towards me with his tied back hands. Just then, everything went black.

Break's P.O.V.

I was sitting on the couch in the extra room Aurora was using when she finally woke up.

"B-Break?" Aurora said as she blinked her eyes open. She was laying on her side on the bed facing me.

"Aurora! You're finally awake. Took you long enough. I've never seen somebody react that much to their incuse moving," I smiled at Aurora. Thank God she finally woke up.

"Huh?" Aurora wiped her eyes with the bottom of her hand and sat up, "Oh yeah... Last night... My chest hurt... Then I passed out from the pain," She looked down at her chest, "Okay good I'm still wearing clothes... Wait, where's Tyler?!" Aurora's eyes opened wide as she turned to look at me.
