Chapter 1: New Girl

-MIA-

I had just finished unpacking, which sucked because it was super tiring. My mom helped, singing the most awful songs I have ever heard. "Mom, sometimes I worry about you." I tease, throwing her one of my shirts. She laughs and folds the piece of clothing I threw her.

"Oh c'mon. I'm not that bad at singing am I?"

"Actually yes. Yes you are." I laugh. I don't really have a strong relationship with any of my parents since I was usually always with my friends or at school while they were at work or out. So now that we live somewhere new, and we don't quite know anybody yet; we can finally 'bond'.

"Did you meet any of the new neighbors? It seems like a peaceful neighborhood." She asks me, putting the last stacks of my folded clothes in their drawers. My mind immediately takes me to the guys playing basketball yesterday, all hot and sweaty. I bit my lip and smiled at how he looked at me.

"Eh, not really. I did see two hot guys playing basketball on their driveway, though. About my age." I shrug. She stops what she was doing and stares at me. My parents never really liked me around guys, and they defiantly don't let me date, but I do it anyway.

"Hot guys? You better not be out there with boys again, Mia. You're only fifteen, first comes school and all your studies, then comes the boyfriend or whatever." She gives me more of her annoying ass lectures. Her and dad keep telling me the same shit about guys, to the point where they almost gave me 'the talk'. I didn't let them of course.

"Chill mom. I only said they were hot, not that I had sex or something." I joked. She glared at me and shook her head. "That's not funny Mia. I'm serious. Kids your age these days." She huffs to herself leaving my room, stopping before she closed the door, "oh, and your father and I are going to drop things off at his new office, so unless you want to come, you're gonna have to be alone for awhile."

I smiled and waved her off, "I'll be fine. Bye mom."

"Alright, don't get out of the house while we're gone. There is also some left over pizza downstairs if you get hungry. Call if you need any-"

"Ok, ok! Bye." I cut her off, practically pushing her out of my room and closing the door. Parents.

I sit on my bed and sigh, only then did I hear the small footsteps of my pomeranian, Poochie, come up the stairs and into my room. I got her for my 14th birthday, but I never really spend time with the poor thing. My dad must have brought her here because I don't remember her in the car with my mom and I.

She stares at me with big eyes and does a little whistle through her small black nose. "What? Do you want to go for a walk?" I ask, as if she was going to answer me. She wags her tail and half barks. I smiled, her small pink bow on her head and little pink dress to go with made her look cuter. I stood up and adjusted my shorts before walking down the steps and dug through the many boxes for her jeweled covered leash.

I finally found it, and clipped it on her collar. "C'mon Poochie, lets go for a damn walk." I baby talk to her. But before we entered the fresh summer air of outside, I did a quick check on my reflection in the hall mirror. Denim shorts, pink tank top and pink Vans; ok.

I pulled her outside and walked the direction of the house from yesterday. The guys wern't outside, but I somehow knew they were home. Please be home. I walked across the street and hoped they would come out if they saw me on their side of the road. Unfortunately they didn't. I gave up and decided to just go back home, once Poochie crapped on their lawn. Shit, I didn't bring a bag with me. "Damnit, Pooch! Hurry." I looked around nervously, hoping no one is watching me not pick up the poop on the hot boys property.
