"The defendant Jae Hojin is found guilty and will be sentenced to 25 years in prison under multiple charges," said the judge. In that moment, everyone seemed to give out a sigh of victory and relief, but there was you. You didnt. Jimin is still up there. The judge continued on to Jimins verdict. The room became quiet in a matter of seconds as you held a desperate stare. Jimin kept his head down but his mind ran crazier than ever. The judge spoke.
"The defendant Park Jimin is found not guilty." Everyones reactions were different, but ultimately the same feeling resonated. Jimin squatted down as all his strength and will to be up there drained in an instant. It was an incredible relief, a sudden gasp of air you needed since the beginning of this entire thing so long ago. You looked over to him finding him hiding his face in his hands, wrists cuffed. You stood up and waited for the judges final words: "The jury is thanked and excused. Court is adjourned."
Hojin was taken, almost dragged as he looked down in anger. His eyes shifted to you, shooting a look that made you fearful to the core, but there was nothing to worry about now. You were victorious. You stared back, making him look down in regret for his own actions. Junie was cuffed and told what would come next for her, but she seemed to have accepted it. She looked over at Jimin who stood up and waited for his release. Junie paused next to him before being taken away as you saw her mouth 'I'm sorry.' Jimin nodded accepting, but still feeling anger and disgust towards her. Your eyes roamed around Jimin as the police officer removed the cuffs off Jimins wrists. He was released.
Jimin walked towards you, biting his lip in attempt to calm his feelings. You approached him, wrapping your arms around him safely as he buried his face into your shoulder, also hugging you tightly. You caressed his hair as he sighed, "its all fine now," you said to him. He slowly pulled away, his eyes meeting yours at a short distance, "(y/n)," he said. You nodded and raised your eyebrows as you held on to his soft cheeks, waiting for his words. "(y/n)," he said once again as his eyes looking deep into yours. "What is it?" you gently responded. "(y/n)," he said once again, confusing you for an instant, but giving him all the time he needed.
.
You felt your heartbeat. It was slow, steady, weak...your eyes opened slowly to a white room, brightened up by hospital lights and a dim lighting from far away curtains. Your senses felt weak, you couldn't move. There was an audible rumble, low and continuous outside. Rain. You were lost and confused. Your eyelids felt incredibly heavy as if you had slept for years. There were blurry colorful lights wrapped around a plant of some sort and a scent of fresh flowers.
Look around you.
There were cables attached to you, motioning your entire existence, yet your mind did not understand why you were here. You looked around but your vision was blurry. There was a silhouette there, sitting on a chair next to your bed, bent over and immobile and a hand wrapped around yours, warming your cold fingertips up.
Your mind thought of nothing as you stared at the warmth wrapped around your hand. Like you had lost feeling or care of the world, but somehow this felt peaceful. The sounds your ears adjusted to, the light your eyes focused on. You wanted to feel more. Your fingers lightly enveloped this persons hand...like you never wanted to let go.
Your head turned to look over once again at the person who was sitting next to you. His eyes met with yours. His were wide and tearful yet exhausted and sad but yours were tired and confused. Five seconds of surprise but different feelings were swirling throughout each other's hearts. For a moment you lost yourself in attempting to remember who this was. Your eyebrows furrowed down and your weak heart began pulsing faster, working hard to allow you to feel these emotions.
