Project Made for Love ~

The Assignment

Mina's POV:

Today was the day we were getting our travel assignments to do over the course of three weeks. I was getting pretty nervous, I didn't know where my project was gonna be held. All I knew was that everyone was to go with a partner of their choice to a place picked by the professor, and that we had to interview different people there on their views on other countries.

Will I be able to concentrate on the project, will I get judged by the people there? So many things were going through my mind.

I put my head down on the mini table attached to my seat and closed my eyes for a minute. I had to calm down. Just as I lifted my head and opened my eyes, I saw my friend Sumi walk into the auditorium looking for me.

I waved towards her. Noticing my hand she walked in my direction and sat next to me where I had saved her a seat.

"You excited!?" she asked me in an cheerful tone.

"Eh..." I replied. "I'm really nervous to be honest..."

Sumi pouted.

"Aye don't be, it will be fun. Especially since we will be doing it together!" She gave me a big smile.

I smiled back and then rested my head back on the table. Just as I was about to doze off I heard the professor's booming voice through the loudspeakers while he spoke into the mic.

"Alright everyone, today is the day! I have gotten everyone's partners and their assigned place ready to be announced. This project is huge, I suggest you all prepare really well before leaving in order to get good feedback on your results."

Everyone in the auditorium started muttering to their partners and planning what they were going to do.

"Quiet down everyone", the professor said into mic.

The room quickly quieted down.

"I will call down partners pairs one at a time to receive their assigned place. First partner pair, Evy and Jenna.. " The two girls stood up and went down to the professor.

As the professor kept on calling names, me and Sumi were thinking about the different places we could be going to.

"Just imagine! We could be going to Europe, Australia, Iceland... Ohhh my so many possibilities!" Sumi was trying to get me excited, but all that really did for me was get me more nervous. As she kept listing the different possible places, I just looked at her with a stern face.

"Can we please talk about something else, I can't take this anymore"

I buried my face into my arms. Sumi comforted me by patting my head. "I know so many people like you, I understand."

"Sumi and Mina, please come down to receive your assigned place" we heard the professor say. We got up and made our way down to where the professor was.

" I assigned you guys to Seoul, South Korea. Are you both okay with that? It is pretty far.." the professor asked.

Sumi's eyes turned big.

"Wow, that's awesome, don't you agree Mina!" I looked at her and then at the professor I didn't want to seem like a mood breaker, so I nodded. "That is pretty cool .."

The professor smiled at us showing his bright, white teeth. "It's a deal then! You guys will start your project next week".

Me and Sumi nodded then made our way back to our seats. To be honest I wasn't as scared as I thought I was. I was pretty excited, I looked down and let out a small sigh of relief and smiled a little to myself.

Sumi looked over at me and chuckled."Is that a smile I see?"

I looked back at her and smiled even wider. "Yes indeed".

After the last couple of names were called, we were dismissed to go start planning and get ready for the journey ahead.
