Chapter 2 : I N E V I T A B L E
Azure's POV
Life. The characteristic that distinguishes organisms from inorganic substances and dead objects. Life is a gift. Life is short. Life is... has more to be said. But as for you; What is life? How far can you desribe or compare it?
After our mission, we reported to Master Kenji Takigawa, the Oyabun of Takigawa Clan whom I pledge and serve. He wasn't just a master to me. He was my grandfather and a bestfriend. We always talk and spend time together with the others unaware. I could say that I'm probably the closest to master. The one who knows when he's happy or sad, pleased or pissed, or when he missed someone... I was like his diary. He trusts me so much that betraying him would be ashame. I know his secret but guess not everything. He missed his daughter and grandson. The rumors says their dead but Master knows in his heart their alive. And believed that one day they'll comeback for him nevertheless he will bring them back no matter what cost it may take.
I've known the kid's name, Yue. She was treated and is currently resting. I pity the child. We're identical but I haven't been raped and never will I ever be. Dark was still idling though and has been bugging me of what has gotten to me that made me save the kid instead of killing her. He haven't got any response since neither I, don't know.
When Master Kenji walk in the room, Dark and I greet and bow as a sign of respect and sit.
"Okaerinasai." ( Welcome back. ) Master Kenji said. Master Kenji would sometimes joke around us however he was still strict. He was gentle and warm when we talk privately, it's in you if your scared.
"Tadaima, Shi." ( I'm back, Master. ) We both respond with a small smile while I on other hand shake my head. Dark was intimidated. He look at me with his tense, confused, and somewhat asking for help face. I just shrug in response. Dark was jolly, playful, and somehow slow or so everyone thought but behind that mask was a keen observer.
I handed the documents I found and keep what's mine alone. I may trusted them but a certain secret is better to be hidden.
"Shi, what's our next mission?" ( Master ) Dark asked. He was always eager and excited. No, he was rather anticipating for something new.
"Philippines." He blurted out of nowhere that caught my attention. I looked at Shi in the eyes without a word. On my peripheral vision, Dark glance at me, worry was evident in his face.
"Nani desu ka?" ( What? ) I asked coldly. Well, it's been my nature but guess everyone wasn't used to it cause Dark look more tense than the usual. He's worried, I know that though I don't know what's the big deal?
"I'm worried." He sincerely said. He doesn't need to worry cause I don't care wherever hell my mission placed.
"Sō ka..." ( Is that so ) I replied. I straighten and look directly to Shi. I'm determined.
When your facing a dilemna, would you agree on everyone else that 'LIFE IS UNFAIR'? Struggling to perfect a plan of resolution though the problem has been solve before it occur since the solution was right on your eye. You just can't see it or worst you ignore it. Believing the huge problem needs a huge solution though a single sorry and explaination might work. What made a person hold back? PRIDE. What does it bring if it wasn't on the right place? Bigger problem. A person is like guine pig of emotion, tested. Tested how one can control it. How one knows the balance to walk in a string without falling.
"Misshon ukeiremashita." ( Mission accepeted ) After the words left my mouth I stood up.
"Shikashi..." ( But... ) Dark tries to protest but was cut off.
Flashbacks of a certain memory whether we like it or not will always remind of what happened in the past that made us to take the path today.
"Your flight will leave in 6 hrs." Shi announced. I left the room not bothering about Dark's protest to Shi. He can't change anyone's opinion here. Not Shi's or mine.
I describe life as an experiment. You live to seek, discover, invent, and lastly, creating yourself. To create something that will live forever. To be remember, it's either dark or a fairytale one. Past that already happened can't be rewritten. Only, if the time repeats itself.
And then there's death, to end. The termination of the biological functions that sustain a living organism. Death, that made me miserable and tore me apart. Their death made me a living dead. Death that judge their lives to be taken.
I visit the kid. She's sleeping peacefully.
"I can't say if your lucky or not kid. You we're tortured. Nevertheless, I can say you're a bit lucky. Lucky, cause I didn't judge your life however, I'm confused. Who are you?" I caressed her face. She stir so I abruply pull my hand.
"Onēsan?" ( Older Sister ) She called. Nee-san? Kids don't call me anything like that. They were too afraid of me, afraid that I might kill or beat them. Maybe I might. But not this kid, never...
"Onē-san?" ( Older Sister ) I asked. She tried to sit up but her body couldn't oblige what she want.
"Hai. I want to call you Onee-san for saving me." She explained. She was adorable and smart. Even though she'd gone hard she can still smile like nothing happened. She can still light up the people around her. Her smile... She is innocent.
"Sōdesu ka." ( I see. ) I answered quietly trying to be soft infront of the kid. I just don't want to sound harsh on her neither does showing pity or somewhat sympathy. It just make you feel worse or else weak. What she need was comfort.
'Hajimemashite. Watashi wa Suzuna desu.' I want to say that to her as a formal introduction of myself. But on the second thought, it's better this way.
"Arigatou gozaimasu, Onee-san!" ( Thank you, Older sister ) She cheerfully said. Her smile that can tug your lips to twitch and form it a smile. And I did. I smile... for her.
"Arigatou, Yue." ( Thank you, Yue ) I whispered. Without any intention of letting her heard what I've said.
"Nani" ( What? ) She asked. Curiousity field over her face. I wanna play with her but then again she don't deserve it.
"Nothing Yue... nanimonai. Sleep now." ( nothing... ) I said before I get out of her room.
But some people believe in reincarnation. Reincarnation is the concept that the soul, after biological death, begins a new life in a new body. Synonyms include past lives and rebirth. The comeback of the soul to a new living body.
"My reincarnation in that place is inevitable."
