Irina Isis Ivy

I woke up with a pounding headache and dry throat.  It was like I had a hangover.  Wait.  What?  Did I drink last night?  I don't even knooooow, man.  I'm so confuzzled right now, lolz.

"Niko," I tried to whine, but his name came out as a croak.  God damnit.  I tried again, this time louder.  "Niks! (Pronounced 'Neeks')"  I shouted, injecting whininess into my voice.

    Surprise, surprise, no reply.

In stories, and movies, shouldn't the person who takes care of you be sitting besides you when you wake up?  Apparently, that's not how it works in real life.

    I was alone.

Sighing, I plopped my head back onto the pillow.  Moving my eyes around the room, I observed that the walls were painted a dark blue, the ceiling black, the ground a dark, night green.  There was an ordinary closet, a dresser, a nightstand, a beanbag chair, all the same things I can find in my own room.  The windows were covered by thick curtains, not allowing any light in, so I couldn't tell if it was day or night.

Judging on the colors, I knew this room had to belong to Niko.

The darkness in the room seemed to close in on me but I didn't mind.  I was used to it.  I know, sad right?  Well, not really...

I let out a loud sigh, I was going mental.  I'm starting to talk to myself more and more.  I chuckled softly.

Then I sucked in a deep breath and let out a yell.  "NIIIIIIIIIIIK!"  I screamed.

"Irina?!"  Niko bursted through the door, panting, eyes wide.

"I'm thirsty," I complained.  "Go get me water."

"Sheesh, it's only that," he sighed.  "I thought someone was trying to kill you or something."

"Nah, you need more than a bullet to kill me," I smirked, flexing my muscles.  Niko scowled at me.  "Now hurry up peasant!  My throat is raw!"  I yelled, turning a little hoarse at the end.  Niko decided not to argue and left, presumably to get some water for yours truly.

I leaned back down, closing my eyes.  I guess I dozed off because time seemed to pass rather quickly through my daze and then Niko was shaking me awake.

"Irina, water," he whispered, shaking my shoulder.

"Gnngh," I groaned.  I opened my eyes and tried to sit up, but then my head started swirling with tiny dots jumping in and out of my vision.

"Woah, careful," Niko said worriedly, still whispering.  I nodded my head at the blob that I assume is my friend and then took the glass of water.  I started drinking rather fast since I was parched but then I splashed some water on myself.  Great.  "Jeez, I told you to be careful," Niko scowled at me.

He put away the glass of water and returned with a soft cloth and started wiping my skin to dry up the water droplets.  "Thanks," I mumbled to him, my head rolling around on my shoulders.  I was so tired!  Letting out a small whine, I rested my head on Niko's shoulder and then burrowed my head into his chest.  I groaned in agony before breathing deeply.  "I'm tired..."  I murmured.

Niko said something and gave me a weird face, but I couldn't make it out and I didn't feel like checking on him so I just made myself more comfortable.

But I wasn't comfortable.  Scowling at the black haired boy, I pulled him into bed next to me.  Then I resumed my position, my head on his chest, my legs sprawled across his, then I fell asleep.

Niko Nevan

I watched as Irina fall asleep on me, sitting like a child on my lap.  She breathed deeply and I knew she was actually sleeping and not faking it.  I sighed and leaned back against the headrest.  I wasn't comfortable in this position so I gently eased Irina and I downwards a little so we're actually laying down.

I flashback to when Irina had Austin in her grip.  Her speed was inhuman.  She was just so fast.  And the way she moved!  It was frightening yet graceful, like a swan gliding across a pond.  Austin didn't had a chance to escape.  But I was paying so much attention to Irina that I didn't realize that someone had sneaked up on us and threw a flashbang, aka a flash grenade.  It startled me and everything was distorted.

Then came a smoke bomb.  I couldn't see Irina even though she was only a few feet away from me.  But when the smoke cleared, I saw that someone had knocked Irina out.  And Austin was gone.  He had escaped - again.

We had let him live the first time because we pitied him but now he came back like a, well, as Irina would say, like a boomerang.

As I was thinking back, I didn't realize that I was stroking Irina's hair until I came back to my senses.  Her hair was surprisingly soft and smooth, and silky too.  I could play with her hair forever.  Smiling a little at Irina's sleeping form, she looked younger than she actually is.  A small blush had took form to her cheeks and I wondered what she was dreaming about.

Somehow, the darkness in the room seemed to become even darker, and as it did, I started to feel a little drowsy.  My head bobbed a little as I tried to stay awake.  But I couldn't help it.  I nodded off to sleep as sleep dragged me down into its arms.
