I pulled up into the school and saw Keith waiting at the doors for me. He smiled and waved at me friendly. I smiled back and began to speed walk towards him. He brings me in for a tight hug. My eyes widen as he lets me go.

"Class is in like 5 minutes, let's go." We both walk into our different classrooms.

All day all I could think about is the big game at 2:15pm.. My heart is racing a mile a minute.
Everytime I check the clock, it seems to be going slower and slower. I tried to focus on my work but I just couldn't. Hopefully, something miraculously saves us at todays game.

*BRRRRIIIIING*

The bell had rung and all the students got up and went to lunch. It was hard to eat from all the nerves boiling inside..

"Andrew!" I turn around, hoping its Keith, but it is only Ryan.

"Oh um...hey." I half smile at the boy.

"Hello! Sorry I couldn't make it to practice yesterday.. I was just a bit...uh...sick" Ryan made up an alibi. I don't even care that he was lying, I had fun with Keith.

"No, no, I completely understand, try to make it next time though, okay?" I nod and begin to walk to an empty table.

I check the time anxiously, "Only about 2 hours until the game" I shiver in fear. I have no idea what to expect except but to lose. Maybe I'm just being a pessimist, maybe we will win...probably not today...but possibly one day?

A long while passes and I hear a voice over the intercom.

"All boys basketball students to the gym, please" A lady said, blasting all throughout NarrowStream High.

I swallow my pride, and begin to head for the gymnasium.

*Brr Brr* My phone went off once again.

"We'll do our best guys, don't worry!" Pierce texted the groupchat.

I open the doors and see my team starting up stretches. Keith stares at me as I walk in the large room. Butterflies fill my stomache as the warmups continue.

Suddenly, the other school's team comes walking into the gym, meaning the game will start very soon.

I breathe in and out as I try to calm down, I mean it's not like I've never played a game before... it's just something's different. I don't know what exactly, but something's off about me. I don't want to dissapoint anyone on my team..., that's it.

"5 More minutes, everyone!" Coach Mocke announces.

Keith ushers me over, I wonder what he has to say..

"I can tell you're nervous, but don't be. You did great at practice and it'll be alright...and if not I'll---" Just then, the alarm signalling the game starting went off. He pats my back and we both ran to the court and began the game with everyone else.

Sean immediately ran towards the ball and snatched it from the team's offense and passed it to Jason who then dribbled near their defense. Then, Keith ran over and caught the ball and got it in! The crowd roared with excitement for us.

We ran back to starting positioned and started again, except we had the ball. Neil passed the ball to Pierce and dribbled it and unfortunately, it was taken by the opposing team and thrown into the bucket at the 3 pointer line...
