So I just found out an extended theory about Sakura's hair.
This moment in the Chunin arc was a huge moment for Sakura. At first, I saw this as a symbol of her not caring about her appearance anymore or impressing anyone. Because the whole reason she grew her hair out like that was in order to impress Sasuke, who supposedly liked long hair.
But after reading a doujinshi on YouTube, I realized there's actually more to her cutting her hair. I mean, I heard her telling the viewers that she was tired of watching Sasuke and Naruto's backs, but I never thought of it in this way.
So you can see in her progression that she eventually does return to long hair after Shippuden. But then once we reach Boruto The Movie, her hair is short again.
The doujinshi is of Sarada asking Sakura why her hair is short, even though she knew Sasuke liked long hair. Well...
(Read right to left.)So.
Not only was her cutting her hair in the Chunin arc a symbol of her growth or of her letting go of the effort of trying to look pretty, but her reason for keeping her hair short is so that everyone can see her back. Not just figuratively, but literally, too. Because she's proud to wear the Uchiha clan symbol and that it, as she had said, "suits her".
