"Honey!" My mom called from downstairs.

"Just a sec mom!" I yelled back at her. That darn woman keeps distracting me from reading this really important part of my book.

"'I love you too' I said, looking straight into his eyes, wondering how this could possibly be.

Jason smiles and leans forward, his lips moving closer and closer to mine."

"Juniper Pluto Day! Get your butt down here now!" My mom interrupts me, again. I close my book angrily and throw it down on my bed. I cross my room stomping as hard as I could. My mom always hates when I do that. "What mom? What is it? What is so important that I had to come back to this horrible world?" I yelled angrily down at her.

I'm on the balcony, leaning against the railing. We have a nice home-at least that's what my mom thinks-and I have a bunch of chores because of it. Believe me, washing the highest windows and mopping all the floors in this house is not fun. My older brother and younger sister always get the easy chores I swear. My mom walks from the kitchen. She stops and puts her hands on her hips, staring at me. "Your grandma is coming to see you and you better watch that attitude or I'll have your phone for a week, deal?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever mom. Why is grandma coming over to just see me?" I ask curiously because my grandmother doesn't really like me that much. She usually comes here to see my mom or my sister. She's always hated me and my brother. We make up theories about why and they're quite funny. One theory is that she's a super villain and we're the superheroes so she won't talk to us because she's leering us in her trap. Hey! Don't judge! We made that up when we were 6 and 8.

My mother just shrugs. "I don't know but she said it was important." She turns around and walked back to the kitchen. Probably cleaning as usual. Typical mom. Time to clean this. Time to clean that. Pshhh yeah right mom. My dads the fun parent unlike my mom. Except my dad doesn't get home until 7 at night. It gets really boring without him.

But why would my grandma want to see just me? It doesn't make sense. Whenever I even walk in the same room as her, she glares at me until I leave. Her glare is the creepiest thing I have ever seen. This is why me and my brother think she's a villain. She could be a witch for all we know.

I walked back to my bedroom and slammed the door. I ran to my bed and jumped on it. I look up at the ceiling and wonder why am I the unlucky one? What did I do to deserve this? Is grandma just going to yell at me? Should I run away? I turn my head to my window. Nah, not worth it. Wait why am I so scared of my grandma? She's a old woman for goodness sakes.

I got up from my bed and walked to my window seat. I sat down and looked at my city. I have the best view. When we first moved into this house, I was looking around until I saw this room. The door was already opened so I walked in and looked around. It was like love at first sight. I ran back downstairs and called dibs on the room. I smile from the memory.

Just then I heard my doorbell ring. I froze and my smile went down. Great she's here.

"June! Come down and answer the door! I'm busy right now!" My mom yelled, probably still cleaning the freaking kitchen. I groan and run downstairs.

While I get closer to the door, my heart beats  faster and faster. This is it. This is the moment when my life ends. Shut up June. I take a deep breath and I slowly turn the knob. I open the door slowly and I peek through the crack.

I see my grandmother, smiling at me. "You can open the door sweetie. I'm not going to bite." She said in a soothing voice. I put on my best smile and open the door all the way.

"Grandma! It's nice to see you, as always!" I said doing a fake sweet voice.

My grandmother just smiles as me and walks in. I close the door after her and lead her in the living room. She looked around and sat down on a chair. She turned to me. I look into her eyes and it feels like she can read my soul. It was like she read my mind and smiled.

"June dear, I have something very important to give you." She said taking her purse off and digging in it. "Oh where is that darn thing?" She mumbled to herself. I just sit patiently and awkwardly, wondering when this will end.

"Aha! Found it!" I jumped when she yelled that out. I turned to her and watched as she pulled out a strange round bottle. It was the kind of bottle you would find in a scientists lab. A flask that's what it's called. And in the flask there was a blue, sparkly liquid. It looked like it came from a magical world or something like that.

She handed it to me and I gingerly take it. Who knows what's in this thing? Chemicals that could blow up? I do not wanna know whatever it is.

"Grandma," I ask, frightened. "What is this?"

"That, my dear child, is your escape." She replied, pointing at the blue sparkly thing she just gave me. I lift the bottle higher to get a better look at it. I swish it around.

"Escape from what?" I raised my eyebrows, still confused. I adverted my eyes from the bottle to her.

She smiled. "Reality."
