"MADISON" my eyes snapped open, momentarily blinded by the harsh light. Iron like hands grasped onto my shoulder but there was a softer pressure clasping onto my hands.
It was Justin and Kate.
Kate knelt by me, while justin loomed over me, a worried line over his forehead. I was somehow on the floor, with the entire class standing up and staring at me. There were whispers around the room and I could see phones being whipped out and snapping pictures greedily. I hated this school.
"I'm fine" I breathed, after a moment of hesitation.
The class still stayed unmoving, and I noticed that Mr Jenkins was also standing up.
"I'm fine" I called out louder, nodding to Sir.
"What happened?" Kate pulled me up, her arm wrapping over my shoulder, "you weren't having an attack again, were you?"
"No" I replied stiffly, smoothing out my shirt "I'm fine" But I sent her a look that I wasn't, I wanted to tell her everything I felt, everything I saw and heard but there were heads leaned in, and ears perked up for the latest gossip.
Walking back to my desk, were justin was waiting, I sat back into my seat like nothing ever happened.
"I didn't know it would affect you that hard" He all but said, not meeting my eyes, "Saying you looked like that girl I-"
"Don't sweat it, It wasn't about that" I snapped, opening the heavy history textbook and flicking through the pages.
"Then what was it about?" he asked curiously, drumming a beat on the plastic desk with his fingers.
"I-I don't like this topic" I replied feebly. I wasn't lying. He was going to say something else but I didn't want to hear it. Instead I plugged my earphones into my hear and turned the volume up to 100%.
"Crap" I muttered, nearly tripping over the last step out of the subway. The noisy atmosphere of brookyln hit me hard, it was much more urban than manhattan but it was always home to me. The orphanage was only around a corner from the station so that made my journey easier. It took me around fourty minutes to get from school. I went to pace high school in manhattan, It was the only school I was accepeted to which was weird. since there were plenty of schools in brooklyn.
"Hello?" I called, shutting the door of the three floored complex. I dropped my keys into the key bowl lisa had made.
Noone replied so I just stalked back up to my room, climbing one floors worth of stairs I bumped straight into into Sara.
"He-"
Clamping a hand to my mouth she carted me to the storage room. I learnt something that day: Sara was freakishly strong.
She flipped on the light switched ang stared at me with a slight pout but her eyes were swimming with glee, "why didn't you tell me?" She stomped her foot in a really cute manner.
"Tell you what?"
"Oh don't play dumb!" Narrowing her eyes at me, she glared for a few seconds before erupting into giggles.
"You didn't tell me you had a boyfriend" she slapped my arm softly, and I was about to laugh and apologise when I realised.. I didn't have a boyfriend. Wait, what.
"Sara... I don't have a boyfriend" I clarified.
"But you do" She winked, "And he's waiting for you here. He's been here for twenty minutes now! He's so good looking, you're so lucky!"
I gaped at her for a few seconds, opening then closing my mouth. what on earth was she talking about.
"oh, right. He's in the library" she opened the door for me, winking as I stepped out.
The library was on third floor, and by the time I had reached it, I was panting like a dog. Opening the mahogony doors, I walked into the room that smelt heavily of books and wood. Seated gracefully on the loveseat, wearing black pants, and a button down black shirt was Adrian.
