I walked through the streets of this town carrying a bag full of nothing except for money. My eyes are red and swollen due to crying; tears streaming down my face endlessly. He broke up with me. He broke up with me. He broke up with me? Yes, he broke up with you, Sie. What the hell is wrong with you? What did you do? I sighed. I can't seem to get over the fact that we're over. We're done, and I don't even know the reason why. As I walk through the streets with sorrow obviously painted on my face, something had caught my eye.
"Sie."
I somehow gasped in my mind. Isn't he. . . Isn't he the neighbor who suddenly peeked through the window and then immediately disappeared afterwards?!
I stopped walking and stared at his figure. His posture was rigid. Tall. He also stopped and stared back at me. Only half of his face was seen. He was wearing a cap, and his hair was definitely shaggy. His dark-colored clothes give contrast to the surroundings, so it definitely catches an eye.
Who are you? Did you cause me this pain I'm feeling? I whispered inside my mind. I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment.
"No. The pain you feel right now isn't half of what you would feel 5 seconds later."
Huh? Oh God. He can hear my thoughts? He can hear. . My thoughts?!
"BEEP BEEEEEEEP!"
"Oh my God!" WHO IN THE HELL—
"Get out of the road you psycho—SIE! What the heck are you doing?!" A familiar voice shouted. I looked around to see who it is, but since I'm too god damn sad right now, I gave up and broke down on the road. "Sie!"
"Are you okay, Miss?"
"Do I look oka—Get away from me you sick freak!" I squealed when my eye caught the color of his clothes. I squealed when I sensed his aura. I squealed when I saw that familiar cap. He's the one. Don't get me wrong. He's the one causing me all this misfortune!
"Move. Away. From. Me."
"What—Sie, I'm just trying to help,"
I came back to my senses and saw Josh standing right in front of me. My eyes widened and I immediately felt guilt inside me. My butt freaking hurts, actually. Wait, wait a second, where is that guy? Did he disappear? Did he just suddenly turn into something magical or something very small that I can't even practically see him? (I have good eyesight, for your information) Did he turn into ash?
"Sie, you're somehow making a scene already." Josh stated as he held out his hand to help me. Josh, you're a lifesaver.
"Oh my god, Josh, you saved me!" I said and jumped up to hug him. Josh is like my older brother; my right-hand man. He's my cousin, actually. He was the one who took care of me back then when I had no one else to hold on to. My real brother actually went missing. And dad. . . Yeah. He was a great man. My mother died when she gave birth to me, and my father somehow blamed me for killing her.
For killing my mother. . .
My dad was down and depressed that time. After a few months of staying in his room, he decided to kill himself. I don't know if that's the real cause of his death though. It seemed like it was something else.
"Arsie, I'm sorry. . ."
"Did you say something Josh?" I asked, because somehow, I suddenly heard a voice whispering an apology. Crying; sobbing. I felt tears spilling on my shirt. I looked up and saw Josh sweating due to the intense heat of the sun.
"Nah. Why?" He said bluntly. I definitely heard something. Was it that guy again?
"Sie."
"Sie."
"Arsie!"
"Will you please shut the fuck up?!" I screamed. The calling is annoying! It's bugging me! I covered my ears and closed my eyes shut to block out the roll-calling of my name. Annoying. Annoying dark-colored man! Where are you?!
"Sie! Are you okay? C'mon, let's get out of here." Josh said as he shook me to bring me back to my senses. I don't know what the hell's happening, but I bet more bad luck'll be on the way. Josh dragged me to his car for us to flee from here because we somehow blocked the road 'cause I broke down. Over there. On the road. Wow.
Arsie you stupid bitch.
"Um, so. . . Where do you wanna go?" Josh asked. He didn't bother to look at me but he smiled sweetly; focused on driving, of course.
"I don't know, Josh. I thought you have work?" I sighed.
"Shouldn't I be asking you the same question?" He chuckled. I couldn't help but giggle because we're both late and lazy. A moment of silence wrapped us after that. He brought me to my favorite fast food chain, and as he stopped the car, he looked at me and smiled, mouthing something I would really obviously know.
"I know you're hungry," he whispered in the car. I chuckled and went out of the car because yes, I really am hungry. Why? Because Chasten somehow got really mad and drove me out of his house.
"You sure do know me, don't you?" I said as a remark to him for bringing me to the food chain. He smiled and ate another piece of his fried chicken.
"Sie, before Chasten came, you lived with me for like 10 years. Of course I'd know you better than yourself, probably," he tittered.
"Yeah, whatever. I'm still hungry," I said to change the topic. Living with Josh was epic. He brings me to places that would make me release stress. I was with him since I was a we lil' girl. His parents supported my needs for school and such. Not until Chasten came. Chasten—or Chie, was one of the guys who made me so happy. Aside from Josh, of course. A sudden idea came into mind that boggled me instantly. I grinned sheepishly, widely, and most importantly, Josh knows what this grin means.
"Hey. . . Sie. . Wanna. . ."
"Yes, come on, say it!"
"Get a drink?"
"Oh my god, yes! Your treat! Your treat!" I cheered as I stood up pumping my hands up and down in the air.
"Yeah, um. . Waiter!" He hesitantly called out. Confusion flopped on my face immediately. Why is he so hesitant about this? "Uhuh, yeah. . Uh, Sie, we're not gonna drink too much, okay?" He added. We usually drink 10 bottles everytime we drink 'cause swag— we only have 1 life yo.
"Or do you?"
"Excuse me?" I looked at the waiter and immediately saw what he was wearing underneath his apron.
"So you recognize me?"
"What the fuck, Josh let's get out of here."
"Wha— WHY?!"
"Let's just go, damn it!" I squealed, took my bag and grabbed Josh's hand.
"HOLY SHIT!"
