Regan's POV

I sighed and threw the book back onto the table. "Why do I have to read this shit if I know how to do it already?" I groaned and Allen chuckled from his seat on the couch.

"Because your the one who wants a career as an investigator. You have to go to school for it first." He said and I sighed.

It is now currently February of two years later. Allen and I have just about finished school and we have been nothing but happy. I got a job as an investigator's apprentice. Guess who the investigator is. Thats right. The investigator on Allen's case.

She gave me the job when she found out she'd be needing a partner and I was willing to take it so I went for it and now I'm already on my way to becoming an investigator but I still have to be trained to use a gun and pass a stupid test which requires me to read this stupid ass book. But whatever I wanted the job.

The door bell rang and Gram was instantly in front of it. She was now a big dog and our big protector. She was wagging her tail and panting so I knew whoever was on the other side was someone we knew.

"I got it." I said getting up quickly with the chance to get away from reading the book. I walked down the hallway and opened the door. I saw Julia smile at me. A guy was with her. "Julia we dont have work till Monday what are you doing here?" I asked and she looked up at the man.

"I've come to speak to Allen Legar. According to your boss here he lives with you?" The man asked and I nodded. "What is he to you?" He asked and I fought the urge to say a snarky comment.

"My boyfriend." I said and the surprise on his face was priceless. "I'll get him hold on." I said. I turned and looked down the hall to the living room. "Babe Julia and another investigator need to speak to you." I yelled and I heard him set his book down. He appeared at the end of the hallway.

"Why?" He asked and I shrugged. He passed by me and walked to the door. I followed. "Hello?" Allen said as he shook the mans hand.

"Hello Allen I'm Greg Dublan from the Department of Child Services. I have important situation that must be discussed immediately." He said and I saw Allen's face contour into confusion. Julia's face lost all sweetness and was now serious.

"Ok? Come in then and we can talk in the living room." Allen said allowing them inside. Julia knew the way so I just nodded at her and she led the Greg guy down. Gram followed the man closely. She didn't growl or anything she just stayed following him until we were all in the living room and sat down. They sat across from us on the opposite couch.

"So there really is no way to put this lightly do to the seriousness of the situation." Greg said and I saw Allen's eyes fill with the slightest bit of nervousness. "I am aware that you and your boyfriend were subjected to a kidnapping about three and a half years ago. Yes?" He asked and I saw Allen's jaw tense but he nodded. "During the duration of your Kidnapping you were subjected to sexual content while having an affair with the women claimed as your fathers girlfriend. Yes?" He said and Allen's body went tense.

"An affair?" He said his voice slightly angered. I grabbed his hand that had formed a fist. He looked down at it and took a deep breath. "I was raped not having an affair." He said. Greg was taken aback by this and cleared his throat uncomfortably.

"I apologise Allen. I didnt know that was the situation." Greg said but Allen only shook his head.

"Its fine continue." He said and Greg nodded.

"We ran test after test to make sure that it wasnt a mistake. But a month ago his girlfriend over dosed." Greg said and Allen shrugged.

"This has to do with me why?" Allen said no remorse in his voice for that woman and I didnt blame him.
