there was, what yoongi deemed, unnecessary weapons littered across the castle, and it was beginning to scare him a little bit. he had no doubt that he wouldn't be safe in the castle, he just felt uneasy being surrounded by so many things that were intended to kill. especially when he was here to protect somebody from being killed. if he knew the reason for their placement, he would most probably feel a bit better. he just didn't know who to ask.
he decided on hoseok.
"hoseok-ah?" yoongi called out his name after a week of wondering and being scared of the sword in his bedroom.
"hyung? are you okay?" hoseok came through from his connected bedroom from the bathroom, sticking his head around the doorframe and looking slightly like a floating head.
"oh, yeah. i'm okay, i just wanted to ask you something, is all." he ushered the prince to come in fully, watching as he dropped himself comfortably on yoongi's bed and lying down next to a sitting up yoongi.
"ask away." hoseok repositioned the pillow cushioning his head slightly, now having his neck and head supported fully.
"how come there's weapons all over the castle? i mean, there's a sword in here and it makes me slightly uncomfortable sometimes..." mid-sentence, yoongi realised that he sounded slightly like what jeongguk would call a 'wimp', scratching the back of his neck with his short fingernails slightly and making the skin that lay there irritated.
hoseok swatted his hand away, forcing it down onto the bed next to his chest. "don't worry about it, it's a logical question," he waited for a nod from yoongi before continuing. "they're to protect us incase we are attacked by black witches."
"ah, i never really thought about that. i was never educated on them."
"if you're going to live in the castle then it might be a good idea for you to know at least a little about them, for your safety, you know. incase there is a spy or something, you're the one most likely to spot them out but you need to know what they're like before you can pick 'em out." hoseok moved the arm that was hanging off the bed so that his elbow was folded and floating off the side, his hand cupping his neck and looking up at the ceiling.
"then i'll probably need to learn. how much do you know?" yoongi crossed his legs and rotated to look at hoseok, who was ruffling the hairs on the nape of his neck with his hand.
"i'm a prince, yoongi. i know a lot."
black witches and white witches are scarily similar yet completely different. as the stereotype holds, white witches are good and black witches are bad. a lot of white witches are persuaded that something new altogether flows through a black witches veins, something laced in evil and terror while ours is laced in good and positivity. to be honest, i don't believe that.
hoseok rolled his eyes at the statement and let out a laugh that was anything but real, made to mock whoever had come up with the idea in the first place.
we all have the same blood in us, it doesn't matter who we are. black witches can become good, white witches can become bad. our blood doesn't restrict us.
you see, the only reason black witches are black witches is because they don't like to live indoors. the indoors makes full black witches skin crawl, and half-bloods feel unsafe and ill when being trapped indoors.
yoongi could feel his heart race picking up, clutching his hands in front of his stomach. the sun was setting and his skin was doing exactly that, his feet were starting to shake by themselves and pins and needles stabbed each, making the feeling almost unbearable. he continued to listen to hoseok.
