Chapter 24

"Akeira"Frigga gasped as she saw the bloody and scantily dressed girl.

".. Loki" winter mumbled.

"He will be here soon princess" Thor assured her. She nodded. They placed her on a bed. Many women came to clean her wounds. Frigga was wiping her face.

"I'm.. sorry" winter mumbled to Frigga, "I couldn't.. tell.. you"

Frigga smiled,"shh... I know you have your reasons. Let's get you well darling"

Winter  nodded. Soon they he cleaned all of her wounds. She sat in a black  dress. Her wound were still there. Her hand was bandaged, as was her  thigh.

"Darling. This may sound rude. But did Maldir.. did he..? " Frigga left the question in the air. Winter understood.

"Almost. Loki  stopped him" she said. Frigga looked relieved. "It was the queen.She..  did this" winter said softly.

"I never would've  thought that a mother would do so to her daughter" frigga said sadly.

".. she  isn't my mother. Not really... you are" she said and looked at frigga, who smiled softly.

"My strong daughter " frigga said and hugged her.  She winced in pain but returned the hug.

"AKEIRA WINTER! " a loud voice  was heard. Winter turned to see a fuming and teary eyed Seraine. Thor shrugged apologetically. "... you stupid girl! " she said and walked  over  to her. Thor came behind her trying to tell her to calm down.

  "Se... Seraine.. I promise I can explain" winter said stuttering.  Seraine walked up and raised her hand to hit her but stopped as she saw  all the bruises she had. She held her mouth to stifle a sob. Winter  looked sad.

"No don't cry please." She said.

"Why didn't you tell me?"  Seraine asked. Winter looked sorrowful.

"She said she would hurt Loki..  and you.. and Thor and frigga.. every dream I saw was.. you dying and..  Loki dean and rotting.. and how could I risk that happening? " she said  sincerely. Seraine looked shocked.

"I understand. I am going to kill  that bitch" she said winter looked shocked as did Thor and frigga. The  great prim and proper Seraine had used a bad word! She looked at them  and shrugged.

"What? She tortured my baby sister. She is either dying or barely hanging on to life by the margin of her pale dry skin after I'm done with her. " she said angrily. Thor blinked for a while, shocked. Winter looked relieved.

"I wanted to tell you when. Maldir.. " she trailed off.

"I know. I still hate you" Seraine mumbled.

"You love me" winter replied. Seraine shook her head.

"Come on. You love me don't you? " winter asked sweetly. Seraine finally smiled and hugged her.

"Yes I love you. You idiot"she said. Frigga and Thor smiled.

"I shall wait out for Loki. When he comes we will tell him to see You. You rest." Frigga  said.  Winter gave a miniscule smile  and  nodded as they all left. She looked at the plate of grapes.

"Any insects in there?" She joked as she picked up a grape. She popped it in her mouth and nearly cried when she bit  in. So good! She devoured the entire plate of fruits.

She needed sleep but... she wanted to wait for Loki. She wanted to tell him she loved him. To tell him she was sorry. To tell him.. everything. She was pleased. Yes. Loki would come home. Maldir would be in prison. Loki would shield her from the queen. She and Loki would  live happily. The door burst open, frigga walked in.  Winter looked expectantly at frigga thinking that Loki had returned. But.. frigga wasn't smiling back.

Winter's eyebrow furrowed as Tears filled frigga eyes, "Fandral and Sif disappeared.... along with Loki."

Winters breath stopped, "..what?" She asked softly

. ".. Loki's gone "
