My mouth turns dry and I feel my stomach sink to my shoes as I stare In disbelief at the television before me. I had heard the rumours; district thirteen was planning another hunger games, that they took a vote and chose to murder the children if the Capitol in the same way that their District's children were murdered in the games. I never thought for a moment that it was actually going to happen. I thought this was what the rebels were fighting against? I thought that they were against the pointless slaughter of children? They say that it is different now, they say that it's justice, they say that this is revenge.
After having no training and no warning we- the children of the Capitol- are going to be pitched against each other in a fight to the death, in the 76th annual Hunger Games. And I, Scarlet Snow, Granddaughter of the late, former Presrident Snow, will be sure to be at the top of the list for the reaping of this Hunger Games, The Hunger Games for the Capitol's children.
