When I got back over to the house, I walked upstairs to my room. I sat down on my bed, kicked off my Nikes, and opened the book Mawmaw gave me.
Wow. This book was amazing. I rolled over in my stomach and started to read, unaware when my brother standing in the doorway of my bedroom 30 minutes later.
He walked over to my bed and shook my shoulder.

"Charlie!"
I screamed like I'd been shot, he scared me so bad.
"Oh my gosh! Don't do that!" I gasped for air as he and I started to laugh.
"Well, I didn't think I'd scare you that bad." He chuckles.
"Anyways, Michelle said that she'd be home late, and Tate won't get off his shift until 10, so we have to house to ourselves until 9."
"Okay, thanks for telling me." I rolled back over to continue reading my book when James stopped me.
"What's the book, Charlie? I've never seen that before. "
"Oh, Mawmaw gave it to me. It's about a school that witches and wizards go to, and they learn magic there. It's really cool. "
"Wow. What's it's name? The school, I mean. "
"Uh..." I flipped through the first couple pages until I got to the picture of the school.
"The caption says the name of the school is Illusory Institute."

"Huh. That's a bit weird." He shook his head.
"Anyways, do you just want to order pizza or what?" He grins at me.
Whenever we are by ourselves for dinner, we always order the meat lovers pizza with breadsticks.
What can I say? We love carbs. I grin back at him, and say,
"Sure, bro. Meat lovers?"
I point at him like I'm his mother telling him to do his homework before video games.
"Of course." He assures me. "With extra breadsticks too."
I smile up at him and then shoo him out of my room. I haven't even started on my English yet, although I won't take 5 minutes to do it.

When I finish my work on grammatical errors of the 21st century, which is boring as ever, I walk downstairs to find James sitting on the computer, while on the phone.
"Yeah, yeah, I want the large meat lovers with extra breadsticks. Okay, that's fine. Thank you."
He turned to me and smiled.
"20 minutes. "
"Okay" I reply as I get out glasses for us to drink out of. "What movie?"
"Hm... how about...Peter Pan?"
"Sounds good, sis. "
I grin as I walk over into the living room and over to the movie wall to get the movie.

30 minutes later, James and I were stuffing our faces and singing along to the song "Following the Leader".
"Ohhh, J, here's where the Indians- Yow!" I yell as the Lost Boys, John, and Micheal get attacked by Indians hidden in trees.
James laughs at me, saying, "You say that every time we watch this!"
"I know. But I like saying it because it annoys you." I tease.
"Whatever, sis. "
As we continue to watch the movie, I start to hear a low humming sound.
"James, is that you humming?"
"I though it was you. Apparently not. "
I sit up and look around.
"It sounds like it's coming from upstairs. Come on." I get up off the couch and walk up the stairs to where our bedrooms are with James.
"Look!" He points to my room, where there is a bright golden light emitting from something in it. As we near it, the humming keeps getting louder.
"Ah!" I say, covering my ears. James covers his ears and pushes open the door to my room with his foot.
"Woah...."
We look in to find that the book about the Illusory Institute is glowing a heavenly light that would've been nice if it weren't uber bright.
I look over to James, and he nods as we slowly start to advance towards the book lying open on my bed.
As we walk, the book keeps getting louder, and brighter, until neither James or I can look at it.
"WHAT CAN WE DO?" James shouts at me as I shrug.
"TRY TO CLOSE IT?" I holler back, trying to keep my ears closed.
"OKAY, BUT WE BETTER HURRY, I THINK I SAW MICHELE JUST PULL IN!"
We both progress towards the book, and just as we are reaching for it to close it, the book suddenly shot out a blast of light that blew James and I into the wall opposing my bed.
We fell to the floor, bruised all over.
"Agh.." James groaned as he got up and looked over at me.
"Well, that happened. " I remarked as I sat up.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, a bit beat up though. " James snorted.
"Wait. Listen. " I say as I hush my twin.
We sat there in silence for a minute before James said, "I don't hear anything. "
"Yeah, that's the point, genius. " I shot back. "There's no humming. "
We both look over at the book, which is now dormant like a normal book.
"You say Mawmaw gave you that?"
"Yeah," I reply. "Why?"
"We need to go see her. Maybe she'll know something about why that thing," he pointed at the book,"did what it did."
All of a sudden, my door flies open to reveal Michele.
She looks at us, and says, "You two fliberdygibetts left the pizza box open again. I had to have a piece."
We laugh, releasing the tension that had been in the room before.
"Yeah, sorry about that. " I say as we walk over to her.
"How was your day?"
"Good. I had to go out and help Amanda pick out a dress for her sister's wedding. And you know how picky she is."
I laughed, saying, "Yeah, I remember that. The fateful day that 99 dresses still didn't have an owner."
James raised his eyebrows. "Wow, that's crazy, and I live with this one." He points to me with his thumb and my mouth falls open in shock.
"I am not that picky!" I exclaim.
"Oh, really? You once didn't get a dress because you thought it was too short even though it was past finger-tip length. "
"Wha- I didn't like the color of the dress! It's wasn't because of the length of it!" I shove his shoulder playfully as he laughs.
"Sure. Whatever makes you happy. " He smirks as we turn back to Michele who is shaking her head at us.
"I swear you two fuss at each other more than any other brother or sister out there. "
"Do not!" We exclaim at the same time. We look at each other, then burst out laughing.
"Well, whether you're fussy or not," Michele laughs, "you're cleaning up the pizza remains."
She points at us before walking over to her and Tate's room.
We walk out of my room laughing.
"Whatever you say." James says to her and she closes the door and winks at us.
I jog down the steps, and walk into the living room.
"Do you think she heard the book? Or saw us fly across the room?" James asks quietly as we both clean up the pizza mess we left.
"Judging by her no-care reaction, I'd say no. But we have to be more careful. If that happens again, and she catches us, its straight to the hospital with some shots for our heads. " I answer.
As James and I walk into the kitchen to throw away our food's remains, he suddenly says, "We should go see Mawmaw. She was the one who gave you that book, she has to know something about it. "
"Okay. " I say as I close the garbage can door. "When? We could go now, but she might be asleep. You know how early she goes to bed. "
"We should go ASAP. I don't need any more falls like that, I already have enough bruises from football as it is."
"Okay. I'll go tell Michele we're going to go see her. " I run up the stairs, stopping by mine and James' rooms to grab our phones, since we don't keep them on us. I also grabbed the book, since it's the cause for it.
I reach the door that leads to my aunt and uncle's bedroom, I knock on it, then grab the knob, turn it, and open the door to find an empty bedroom, with shower noises coming through the wall.
I walk over to Michele's nightstand, leaving a note on the pad of paper she has always laying beside her bed.
James and I gone to Mawmaw's, be back before 10:30. Text if need us, we have our phones.

"Alrighty" I say as I hop off the last step and to see my brother waiting for me. "Note written, now here's your phone", I say simultaneously handing his phone to him and grabbing the keys off of the rack.
"Let's go, sis." Says my brother.
As we walk out the door, I close it behind me.
This was going to be an interesting conversation.

A/N: So, how'd you like it? Something big is about to happen, so I thought a small cliff hanger was appropriate. Anyways, thanks for the read, and don't forget to vote and comment!
