When all seems lost

Please comment if you like it or if you have suggestions. I want to know if you like where this is going. 😃 Mary isn't in this chapter because I'm kind of building up the story. I promise she'll be in the next one.

The next couple of days were hell for Lana. She couldn't sleep or eat, she would throw up constantly always with a question in her mind. Had sister Mary Eunice done something already? Had she called the police?

Her experience being locked up with that maniac would never leave her brain. Every time she heard a noise or saw a shadow, she felt like he was coming for her. The nightmares were the worse part, and they wouldn't stop.

The only positive happening was the nun who had been assigned as her nurse. She would talk to Lana with a soft, if not slightly condescending voice and she was the only kind soul she had seen since Mary Eunice. Or at least, who Mary Eunice used to be, the first few days she was at Briarcliff: innocent, pure, maybe even slightly childlike and yet positively endearing in her un contained enthusiasm to help everyone she could. She wondered what had happened to the nun. On Christmas Day she found Kit on an adjoining bed. It was hard seeing him in such a deplorable state as well as hearing about Grace's death. She also realized that the blonde nun hadn't called anyone. If Kit, a wanted criminal was staying there, unnoticed by the outside world it mean that no one was coming to get her either.

She was surprised by how especially hurt she felt that Mary, who had appeared to be genuinely willing to help Lana had been lying all along. She had thought maybe Mary actually cared about her but she had put her trust in the wrong person again.

The fact was she was alone, Kit was alone and bloody face was still out there.
