FlamingMercury5 asked me about my favorite and least favorite homestuck characters... any of them are fair game! But for the sake of sparing you from a 45-minute long tangent about how much I love everyone (a la Kankri), I'm going to keep it to a specific group or four. If there's a character I haven't mentioned that you would like to know my opinion on, please ask in the comments! (It won't count as an official question, though. Be sure to submit any real ones you may have in the chapter titled I'M NOT DEAD.)

THE BETA KIDS I'm sorry, I love them all. My favorite out of the four is a tie between John and Dave, since John is a precious cinnamon roll and Dave... well, to put it simply, he's literally me af. jade is the cutest woof child and rose is my queen
THE ALPHA KIDS JANE IS ME AF. NEED I SAY MORE dirk I approve of him yes indeed Roxy is a bad influence with a sassy scarf so how could I not like her I don't know what to say about Jake aside from the fact that he's right high on the candidate list, yes indeed how dandy Jake the dog from State Farm click clack ballyhoo

Terezi is my second favorite, mainly because her actions are so outrageous and they always put a smile on my face. She's more "me af" than Jane and Dave combined. Eyesight problems included!
And as for third place...

And as for my least favorite troll...
That position used to belong to Vriska, mainly because she was a jerk in general early in the story (who can blame me? She threw ma boi off of a cliff ;-;) But she was eventually rebuilt and redeemed. She went from someone who miffed me to no end to someone that I enjoy and want to see succeed. Now that's character development right there.
There are no trolls that I outwardly dislike. Sollux for some reason used to be here but now I like him a lot more so hehe
So for the troll I like the least (I STILL LIKE THE CHARACTER, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS OTHERS SO SHHHH) I'd have to say... Gamzee.

When it comes to characters, I usually rank them on a sort of (hemo)spectrum, depending on how good/bad they are to me (in terms of actions) and how much I actually like them. So there's Good Likable, Bad Likable, Good but hateworthy, and bad but hateworthy. (Sort of like the chaotic good, lawful neutral, so on and so forth )
There are honestly no hateworthy characters within the troll group. Almost all of them are Good Likable. ALL EXPECT FOR HONKBOI. I hate him for what he did throughout the story (at least when he was sober), but I can't deny the fact that he's an interesting character. And sober gam is honestly chill af and someone who I could see myself getting along with from time to time. BUT WHEN SOBRIETY HITS YOU BETTER RUN!
Another reason he isn't as high as he could be is simply because of how overrated he is. I think he's a fairly good psycho-evil-dude who didn't really deserve redemption- he will never be good and that's not bad. But then there are some crazy fan people out there who say he's a "pwecious little innocent clown" who "never did anything wrong!!1!1!1" and "deserved a redemption moar than VAAAASKA"

He killed Nepeta, he killed the almighty strongboi Equius, pretty much tortured and harassed Terezi during the period of time in which they were in a kismesisitude, and was generally NOT A GOOD PERSON. And you say he's innocent? Y'all can say this is Burger King and have it your way but seriously.
