Fade

I knew it would happen. I anchored myself yesterday, and that definitely wouldn't work today. There was only one way to buy myself some time, I had to go into the shadow trance. Just like in the bronze jar. I turned my attention to Will.
"Will," I pleaded, allowing my accent to drip from his name. He read my mind and shook his head.
"No. You might not come back."
"Will, I'll be able to heal. I'll be okay." Will's face flooded with determination. It filled up his sullen features and dripped from his eyelashes. It settled in his eyes and it set his jaw. This would be nearly impossible.
"I forbid it, no. Doctor's orders."
I felt myself slip, and Will saw it. I flickered out like a dying candle for a second. I started to sink through the bed. He kept his jawline steady and his expression firm. I couldn't do it.
"Will, I'm sorry. I love you." With that, I entered the trance.

Will's P.O.V (The Five Stages of Grief)
Stage one: denial
Nico solidified. He was fine, he had to be. There was no way he would do that. He just fell asleep. It healed him. He was just tired from trying to walk yesterday. Yeah, that was it. Nico would be fine. When he woke up he'd be just fine. Everything would return to normal. He would defy the doctors. He would be able to walk again. Nico was fine. He was taking a nap. Taking a nap. He was only asleep.
Stage two: anger
How dare he ignore me? He went off without me. He wanted to die, didn't he? And he was in pain. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he would leave me behind! Why did he do it? How dare he do it. Am I that easy to leave? How much does he care?
   Stage three: barging
     I would do anything for him to come back to me. I would choose the Fields of Punishment as long as I could see him. I could kiss him one more time. Anything. I prayed to my dad, Hades, and even the fates. I burned all my food for them. I needed him back, I would do anything.
