Bell ringing signals classes over but Merita had one more class left and that was Art. She signed up for art even though she was no Picasso. She wasn't near good, she was in between the lines.
“will you help me with mine Melisa?” the boy popularly known as Bin asked. She nodded, walking towards his art. He was two classes higher than herself and Sanha. In fact, he was going to college soon.
“Bin-issi, my name is Merita. As in M-e-r-i-t-a” she expressed picking up his paintbrush. He watched her slide the paintbrush along the Canvas. He knew she made some mistakes but he kept watching.
Purple would go better. He thought, still watching her. It was all an excuse. He really didn't need her help. He just wanted to get closer to her.
“Its beautiful” she said staring at the art.
Just like you. He wanted to say but tapped her shoulder instead.
“For helping me out, I'm going to treat you” Bin suggested, picking up his art supplies. “Uhm, I don't think I'll be free today, I-”
“Its just a treat. Its not going to be long” Bin convinced her. She agreed to it and picked up her bag.
“So do you know how to paint, or were you just trying to score a date with me?”
“You noticed?” he raised a brow. “Sure. You've won Awards on your paintings and your arts are the decorations in our work room.”
“Oh” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck as you grabbed his free hand holding on tightly to it.
“But its fine, I wanted to go on a date with you, not just today”
“why? Why not today?” bin inquired. She let go of his hand and said;
“Someone's coming for dinner” a sad sigh escaped her lips as Bin held unto her hand.
“Should I be jealous?” he laughed ruffling her hair as they both entered into a McDonald restaurant.
