Serenity scrambled out of bed and ran to the window, as the second bomb fell. It shot out of the sky like a firework and smashed straight into the wall of her room. Serenity was knocked back from the explosion and slammed her head on the wall.

When she awoke, all she could hear was ringing in her ears. Then, a fiery, hot burst of panic swelled in her chest. A single thought entered her mind.

    "Erika!" she screamed, "Erika!"

She looked frantically around what used to be her room until she found what she was looking for. Erika was lying next to her bed in an unnatural position, her eyes wide open.

"No! Erika, no!" Serenity shouted. Her own voice sounded unfamiliar to her ears. She resisted the urge to cry. She'd built a strong mask of emotion; she wasn't going to let it break now. Serenity hugged Erika to her chest.

She must not let the tears fall.

"Erika, no. It's okay, you're going to be okay." Serenity whispered, her voice breaking on the last word.

But Serenity knew it was no use lying to herself. Erika was gone, and she was never coming back.

Rocking back and forth,  her friend clutched to her chest, Serenity choked on her own saliva as another, a pain-stricken thought entered her mind.  "Wait! What about everyone else?" Serenity said aloud.

"Sorry girl, but they're all gone." Said an unfamiliar voice.

Serenity whipped around. Behind her stood a strange man, cloaked all in black, with a mask over his eyes. "Who are you?" she demanded.

"Can't tell you that right now. And sorry to have to do this to you, girl, but you're coming with me."

"Wait, what do you—" her statement was cut short as the mysterious man hit her in the head with a rock from the debris and a second man came into view. Before she blacked out, the second man grabbed her wrist and looked at the tree mark on her hand.

"Yup, this is the one." He said. "She's already received the Prophecy Dream."

"We'd better tell the council." Said the first man.

The two men stared at her, and then she felt her consciousness slowly slip away.

Welp, there's chapter three.  Again, I'm so sorry it was so short.  I promise that next chapter will be much longer(trust me).  I got so sad while writing about Erika's death!  I didn't want to, but it had to be done!  Let's all have a moment of silence for Serenity's dear friend <silence>.  Besides that sad part, I hope you enjoyed reading!  Today's song is Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne.  Anyways, don't forget to comment and vote, and I will try to get back to as many of you as I can.  Thanks for reading, and stay awesome!
