Thomas
It's the first day of my freshman year. I'm not sure how to feel about it, a lot of people claim the first year is horrible. I'd hope not. At least I have my good friends to talk with. Newt is now a Junior, and Minho is a Sophomore. We compared schedules, and I have first period with Newt, and fourth period with Minho. I wished we could all have a class together, it would be a lot of fun. At least there is still lunch.
We were to go to homeroom first thing in the morning for the upcoming weeks until everyone's schedules were figured out. Mrs. Page's room was very bright, she always kept her overhead lights on the highest setting.
"Good morning Thomas! Welcome to high school. I see you've finally made it! You're growing up so fast!"
Mrs. Page has known me since I was very young. She used to be my kindergarten teacher. She recently became a high school teacher, mainly because she couldn't handle picking up after the kids and staying on her feet with them. Her hair was starting to become a little more gray, and she wasn't as energetic as she used to be.
Our principal, Janson, blared the announcements over the intercom. Everyone hated him. Even some of the teachers couldn't stand him. Not to mention his strange looks. On a good day you might get a small lunch detention. On a bad day, well, you might be lucky if you only get three days out of school suspension.
"Welcome back to school everyone! I expect you to be rested up from your vacation and ready to start the daily grind again. Now I will begin with the announcements."
"Ugh his voice is hideous!" This one short, chubby kid said beside me.
"Just as hideous as his face. Always been that way."
The kid burst out laughing so hard, he almost couldn't make any noise.
"You're pretty funny man! What's your name?"
"Thomas. I've just started school here."
"Sweet me too! I'm Chuck. I've been here since last year."
I could already tell he was going to be "one of those freshmen" by the look in his eyes. But as I looked around I could already tell he had enemies. Poor kid.
"Now let's all rise for the pledge!"
We all arose, then after it was over we headed to our first period of the day.

Author's Note:
Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed the first chapter. I know it's kind of short, but I'll try not to keep them this brief. I'll also try to keep this updated at least once a week since I stay busy with school. Let me know what you think!
