Harry hides his face in his hands, wanting to die of embarrassment. "I don't even know why I said it. It just slipped out—"

"What did I tell you?" Zayn scoffs before taking a drag of his cigarette. "Louis doesn't do romance with alphas."

Harry takes a sip of his beer, leaning back onto the couch. "I thought I was different?" He says quietly, unsure of the statement.

Zayn lets out a sarcastic laugh. "Did you really just say that?"

Harry stares at his lap before demanding, "gimme a cigarette."

"No," Zayn smirks.

Harry's eyes widen, his jaw going slack. "Are you kidding me? Give me one—"

Zayn shakes his head. "I'm not gonna help you develop a nasty habit like I have."

Harry narrows his eyes before huffing and falling down on the red couch, his legs dangling off of it.

"You know," Zayn starts off with a grin. "Smoking is very healthy for a healthy kale farmer like yourself."

Harry rolls his eyes, thinking about how this is probably the hundredth time Zayn has made fun of his healthy eating habits. It was ironic, the dominant liked to live a healthy life style, but ran a company that served unhealthy, sugar filled pastries.

"I just... he said no so quickly," Harry groans. "I can never see him again."

Zayn shrugs. "Just get over it. There's other omegas out there."

"But there's no one like him."

A week had gone by with no communication with Louis. Harry knew he was helping someone with a rut, so he didn't expect anything right away. But when the seventh day came, Harry became disheartened. He would've thought maybe Louis would contact him to stay in touch. But when he really thought about it, the idea of Louis texting him just to say hi seemed ridiculous.

To get his mind off of things, Harry decided to stop by one of his bakeries and help out. He did this frequently when the office wasn't too hectic. Fortunately for him, his work was calm and he had everything under control.

Currently, he was sweeping the floors and maintaining the register. Harry and some other employees handled a wave of customers before things finally settled down, letting Harry finally handle the front of the store by himself.

Harry freezes his movements of sweeping when a familiar, sweet scent hits his nostrils and the door bell rings. Louis. On the inside, Harry panics. He feels like dashing into the back and making someone else take care of the omega, but he knew that would be cowardice. Harry grips the broom before looking over at Louis, relieved when there's another omega behind him. Now he has an excuse for rushing and dismissing him.

Harry didn't get a chance to catch the look on Louis' face when he noticed the alpha, but he did notice the way the younger boy avoided his gaze. "Um, hi," Harry says awkwardly, resting the broom against the wall.

"Hi," Louis says shortly before requesting, "c-can I have a cheese danish?"

"Of course," Harry complies and forces a smile. "Want it warmed up?" He asks after grabbing it from the display of fresh baked pastries.

Louis just nods, getting out his wallet. Harry eyes it, relieved the omega seemed to get back up on his feet after getting mugged. The incident still angers Harry, but he suppresses his feelings. Whatever that was going on with Louis is surely done with, the alpha needs to refrain from showing any sort of sign that he cares for the boy.

"Anything else?" Harry asks while the pastry gets warmed up.

Louis shakes his head, then gives Harry the money once the payment is read out loud. Louis denies a receipt and quickly goes to the end of the store to wait for his pastry. Harry smiles at the boy that waited patiently behind Louis.

The omega isn't petite, but happens to be smaller than Harry. He has pale skin with blonde hair and soft green eyes. Harry finds him attractive, but nothing that would drag his attraction away from Louis. Harry can't even focus on the boy's scent because of Louis' beautiful scent overpowering it.

He just orders a plain coffee and nothing else. While putting the lid on the coffee cup, Harry gets an idea. He pulls out a sharpie and adds something to the cup before handing it to the omega. "My number," Harry says before smirking and winking at the boy.

The omega's eyes widen and he blushes before taking the coffee. Harry notices Louis' intense glare at him, making the alpha chuckle. Harry pretends to check out the boy's bum as he walks out, hoping Louis will notice. Harry glances over at Louis, trying to hide a smirk at Louis' obvious jealousy.

Louis takes Harry by surprise, finally speaking up, "I really fucking hate you, you know?"

Stunned, Harry turns to Louis with a look of confusion mixed with shock. "What?"

"Don't act like you don't fucking know," Louis snarls. "First, you lie about your job, then you act—"

"Wait, wait," Harry interrupts with furrowed eyebrows. "Lied about my job, how so?"

Louis' glare intensifies, something Harry didn't know could happen. "Don't take me for some idiot omega that believes everything alphas say. It's hard to believe a CEO would be sweeping floors at one of their stores."

Harry's eyes then light up, grabbing the broom and resting his chin at the top. Harry grins widely at him, loving how bold the omega is acting in front of an alpha. Most omegas would cower back and refuse to speak in such a manner to an alpha. Harry finds this endearing and sexy.

"Very true," Harry agrees. "But I'm not like most CEO's. I like to pop in locations every now and then."

Louis snorts. "I really was not born yesterday."

Harry chuckles and goes to grab the danish from the oven. "I would love to take you out sometime for lunch, then we could stop by my office. It has a nice view of the city."

"Typical," Louis mutters to himself.

Harry raises his eyebrows. "Hm?"

"Oh, nothing," Louis says sarcastically. "I was just thinking about what a typical alpha you are. Trying to get into every omegas pants. But, hey, who am I to shame? Each to their own. Just don't act like I mean anything to you and that I'm not like any omega you met."

Harry frowns, shaking his head. "Little one, that was just to make you jealous."

"Sure," Louis grunts and reaches for the pastry.

Harry holds it back. "Go to a gala with me. I'll show you just how much of a gentleman I can really be."

Louis narrows his eyes at him. "I've already rejected a date with you."

"Who said it was a date?" Harry smirks. "And yes, you did. It was very embarrassing for me. In this moment, I'll either redeem myself or hide from embarrassment for eternity."

The alpha is surprised at how long Louis can hold a glare at someone. "Fine," Louis grits out, snatching the pastry away. Louis turns away, not wanting to continue the discussion. He would get the details over text. "It's not a date!" Louis yells as he exits the bakery.

Harry is already feeling heavily infatuated with the omega.
