Mates are said to be something that nobody has the power to control, but that has always annoyed me. The thought of meeting my mate and never having anything to do about it just pissed me off. My whole pack have been waiting for me to find my mate and tell me how my life will be so perfect once I find him.

The pack told me every day when I was little about how I would find my mate, I was super exited to have someone that the moon goddess picked out for me as my "one and only for evermore". Getting older I realised that my thoughts were silly and mates were never faithful or as devoted as they were meant to be, Alpha's and Beta's being the worst types of mates are they are way to overprotective of things they will never truly care for.

"The ten things to find your mate darling daughter is" My mother always began as she slowly listed all the procedures to finding a mate

1. You look each other in the eye and feel something change inside you.

2. You feel sparks all over your skin at skin to skin contact.

3. It's intense and you feel a "pull" towards your mate.

4. You fall in love with their flaws.

5. You then declare each other "mate", which is step one in the mating ritual.

6. You mark each other, which is step two of the mating ritual.

7. You become mentally inseparable to each other.

8. You feel secure and protected when you are in their presence.

9. You finally mate with them, which is the final step in the mating ritual

10. You can't imagine your life without them.

But I don't want that, my father never loved my mother, they were mates and he never showed love or cared for her. He came home from the pack meeting every week angry and annoyed,he always used to beat my mother and I.

Mates mean nothing to me and never will.

The day my mother died by the hands of my drunken father I declared that I would reject my mate the second I laid eyes on him and never love a man as they would never care for me the same way.

I became a rouge.
