"Why are you here? And why are you with Luke?"
I look into George's dark brown eyes that stare back at me in shock. "I-We needed to meet-"
"At the club? Of all places? Is this why you haven't been answering my calls and messages? Because you are with Luke?"
I and Luke were on our way out from the club when we meet George coming in with his friends in the opposite direction. I would be lying if I say I wasn't shocked. Right now, we are out in the street with tons of people around us and I couldn't care less.
"George, only if you would listen to me-"
"No, Sherlyn! I don't want to hear anything."
He gets his phone out from his pocket and dials a number. "Hello? Jordan, I am going back home... Next time, I promise."
He hangs up and looks at me. "I was lucky enough to meet a girl like you, but I guess I can't be lucky enough to be with you forever," he smiles painfully.
"I'm sorry if I yelled at you before. I didn't mean to do it," he continues. He steps ahead and brushes some strands of hair away from my face and tuck them behind my ear. Tears well up beneath my eyelids, threatening to fall.
He sees this and his palm goes to caress my cheek. "Don't cry, Babe. You are more pretty when you smile." He tries to smile as his thumbs run along the trails of my tears. "I can't imagine I would be saying this but... Babe, can we break up?"
I see Luke standing at the entrance, his gaze fixated on me. His smirk breaks as we lock our eyes. I look back up at George, remembering every moment we have spent together. But Luke's bright green eyes hover above them.
"Yes."
Hearing my answer, George steps away from me with pain clearly written across his face. "Okay, I hope you guys have a good relationship." He looks at Luke and nods as a sign of greeting. Luke nods back with a smirk.
He looks back at me and said, "I will always love you." He pats my head for the last time and walks away. My heart twists at the sight of his descending back but I steel myself and turn away from him.
I see George's beaming face when I first said yes when he asked me out. His always smiling face whenever he is around me. And now I see his descending back going out of my life forever.
I feel scared, nervous and overwhelmed with all of this happening to me. But I brought this upon myself and I have to take responsibility for it.
"Love, Is everything okay?" Luke asks when I walk back to him.
I take in his green eyes, my stomach twisting in a pleasant way despite the previous events. I would give up everything to be with him. And with him only.

Rose never talks to me after the incident. She always looks away whenever we meet in cafeteria, in class, anywhere we met. Being a socially awkward person as I am, I have absolutely no one other than her.
Luke is the only thing I have that is close enough to happiness. He always messages and calls me, day and night, morning and evening, breakfast and dinner.
"Love, where do you want to go for our first date?" Luke asks when we are on a video chat one day.
I roll over onto my stomach and scratch my chin in a sign of elaborating. "Hmm..."
He looks at me through the screen, completely unblinking. "How about having a picnic under the stars?"
I laugh at his too romantic choice for our first date. "How about an amusement park?"
"Oh, that kills my joy," Luke pouts. "But anything for you, Love. I will come pick you up at the campus this Saturday."
"It's going to be fun. I'm sure of it," I smile. "Can't wait for Saturday."
I thought it would take long before we reach weekend but eventually Saturday comes. I set aside most of my college works and start choosing outfits for the date.
It's not the cutest outfit I have ever seen but it is the cutest one I have. An edge of the pink long-sleeve dress waves just around my knees and I button up the one at the neck as a finishing touch. I touch up my face with some makeup to keep my makeup as less as possible.
I am already locking up my dorm room when I got a call from Luke. "Hello?"
"Love, I am here."
I sign myself out from the campus and there he stands with his hands in pockets. His green eyes look at me with love filled in each and his mouth turns in a smirk.
I smile back at him as we walk to his car. He opens my door for me like the boys do for their girls in the movies. I put a hand to my heart and flutter my eyelids very fast. "How sweet. Thank you."
"Anything for you, Madame," he smirks again at me before closing the door and rushing to his side of the car. Soon, he starts the engine and we begin our journey to the amusement park.
"Yay, to the amusement park," I squeal in excitement.
"Yay, to the scary rides," he squeals, too. False, of course. I slaps him on his shoulders.
"Ouch."
"Eyes on the road. And rides are not scary."
He glances at me and go back to looking at the front. "They are."
"They are not," I argue back.
" Kay, Love. But they are still scary for me."
"Eyes on the road. We will see when we get there," I said as I push his face back to facing the road. His laugh gets my stomach exploding with butterflies. But what keeps poking at the back of my mind is... "Are we there yet?"
***
A distant voices of children and adults from the park get me jumping around. "We are here, we are finally here."
He looks down at me with a smirk probably thinking I look like a child but I can't help it. This is my first time in years that I get to really enjoy the amusement park and no one can stop me.
"Alright, Love. No one can stop you," Luke said.
I look at Luke with a questioning look. "Was I saying that out loud?"
Without hesitation, he nods. "Yeah."
I hide my face from him a guide map of the park. "Sorry, I didn't mean to say that out loud. Gosh.. it's embarrassing."
"Look, Love. You are doing it again," he laughs, "You are adorable when you get excited."
My face heat up from shyness, barely keeping a straight face at what he just said.
I jump when I see the first ride. "I am going to ride this one."
"Okay, Madame." He grins.
After riding all those I think is fun, in which some is scary, I stand here in front of a biggest roller coaster I have ever seen.
It twists and turns at the most unnatural angle and screams can be heard from the carriers at the top of the track. Am I going to be able to ride it?
"I am going to ride it," I turn to Luke and said.
Luke gives a look at the ride behind me. "Are you sure, Love? It looks scary."
"Is not. Let's go and queue," I pull him to the stand and queue for the ride. It's going to be finished in a minute. It's not scary at all.
It is scary after all. We are at the climax of the tracks and I am screaming at my top of my lungs. Luke laughs as the wind blows through his hair, "This is not scary at all."
I clutch my stomach as we walk away from the roller coaster. "That was a scary experience."
"Love, it was not scary at all."
"It is." It is already late in the evening and a flood of people are gathered in front of one ride, the Ferris wheel. "Let's go ride that. But first, I want a cotton candy."
We munch on our candies as we queue for the ride. I tap on Luke's shoulder and show him a couple of kids that is queuing in front of us. They had their hands intertwined and swinging their connected hands between them.
"They are cute," I whisper into Luke's ear.
He whispers back to me, "Not as cute as us."
"Oh stop it," I slap him as a joke on his shoulders.
"It's already our turn. Come on."
I stare at the large ground beneath us as the carriage moves at a very slow pace. "It's beautiful."
"Yeah." I look at Luke and I see him staring back at me. I fix my gaze to outside again.
A whole ride come to an end but we never speak a word and instead we take in every scenery we can see from above.
"Thank you for today, Luke. It's the best day ever," I thank him as we walk back to his car.
"Anything for you, Sherlyn." I relish the way his mouth spell my name.
I smile up at his face and my stomach again twists with happiness. "Thank you, really." I said.
