The Never-Ending Fire

Chapter Three

A voice rang through the mist. It was annoyed, like someone had done something wrong. I stopped, not sure what to do.Should I run away or stay? The fire in my hands faded slowly away, before disappearing totally. The boy sent a hopeful gaze into the mist. Just when I had decided to burn him anyway, the voice shouted again. This time I could hear the words too.

"Nathan come back her, now! Or I'll have to find you by myself"

The boy seemed to respond at the voice, like he was used to obey it. I just got more confused. Only the fire should control people. This person must be might when he or she dared to control someone. Maybe like me? The thoughts made me even more confused.The voice had told me... But what if it lied. No, impossible. The voice would never lie to me. I turned back to the boy. But he had ran away, to the voice that shouted his name I hissed. He was mine! I had him first! But still he had ran away. I wanted to run after him, but something stopped me. My thoughts felt so blurry for a moment. It wasn't a bad feeling. Uncomfortable, yes, but not bad. Still I wanted it to stop. And it did so too. Soon my thoughts was as clear as normal. But I was worried. Why had they became so blurry?

"Don't worry. Only scared people worry... Are you scared? Weak...?

I shook my head. No, I wasn't scared. I wasn't weak! My hands began to glow again. The boy should burn, like the woman that had called him back. Both of them should burn. Although that they weren't really worth it. But I would do it anyway. Slowly, I began to walk. Maybe there was more than two people there? The vision of the burning, old man came back. It made me smile. They would burn so bright, and everything would became beautiful again. Then something stopped me. I snarled, and fought back until the voice spoke again;

"Not yet... Later, later... You must wait, but soon they ll burn. Soon... But not now. Now you have to go. Into the wild, away. People must be kept away from you, you must train. So you can burn everything.."

Why? I couldn't understand. Were they dangerous? I took a step back. Someone was coming, nearer. Suddenly a woman came out of the mist. She stood about six feet away from me. My hands were still burning, and the fire grew stronger as she came nearer. A gasp escaped her lips as she saw my burning hands. Why? Was she jealous? But she seemed more scared.. I couldn't understand why. It was something in her left hand. My eyes focused at it. Round, made out of tree or something. It made me shiver, like it was dangerous. The voice seemed afraid too. A word rang through my mind. Water... I shivered even more. Only the word scared me. There was water in that thing. And the woman would maybe use it at me. My eyes began to glow, and the burn in my hands got warmer. She stared at me for a moment, before moving. Suddenly the woman threw something at me. I screamed in pain as it touched my right shoulder. The water hurt so much. Blinded, I ran away, my right shoulder was soaking wet. Into the woods I ran, still screaming. The pain was terrible. The water mixed with my blood, and fell down at the dirty ground as I ran, leaving a red stripe after me. I could hear that the woman tried to follow me, but I was soon gone.

Suddenly I stumbled, and fell down at the ground. My head felt dizzy, and my right shoulder was numb. I closed my eyes. The black mist that covered me seemed so gently, and my body so light. Although that my legs hurt from the running, and my throat felt sore from the screaming. I could feel how the voice snarled and tried to escape from what had been thrown at m. Water.. that was the name. It roared, and tried to make me run away again. But everything went black, and my thoughts appeared...

Short chapters, I know... But that's just how I writes. This chapter was rather difficult to write, I have certainly lost my plot, if that's even possible. I'm just writing xD So far, I kinda like this story. Ill do my best to make the chapters longer, but I cannot promise anything. I wonder how long this story is going to be?
