The Great Fire of London was truly an amazing sight. The flames glowed strongly, creating a beautiful, but also terrible scene. Everything had a golden edge, and the light almost danced. The smoke was pure black, and almost silky, although that you would die if you got lost in it. Because this smoke was so thick that you almost ' breathe in it. The flames almost touched the sky, and the sound was overwhelming. So many people lost their lives in this fire. And so many other was permanently injured. The fire that had started as a normal fire in a small bakery, was now destroying London. You could hear people scream from the burning flames, and you could see how house after house was destroyed. There was no fair and no unfair in this fire. And Tuesday, 5th S 1666, a small girl named Alice was caught by the great fire. Her house was taken, and burned, and so was she.
You might never understand how the morning was. Everything was grey, and everything was so silent. It was like only ghosts was left. Corps looked for survivors, but found so many dead. Killed by the smoke, killed by the flames, or just killed by the heat. Too many people was crying over their family that had been swept away by the fire. Only ruins was left of that had once been a beautiful home, and the family that had lived there was all dead now. Too many children where now left behind with no parents. Women was crying in sorrow, with their dead children in their arms. A deep sorrow had fallen over the city. The ash was lying covering everything. Morning mist filled the air, and mixed with the smoke that was left. It was like the world was drained for colors.
A house for orphans had also been taken by the fire. The wild flames had destroyed almost everything. This once very mighty building was now just a dark, grey ruin. Before, you could hear laughter, but now there was just silence. No children was playing around, no sound was heard. All the children was dead. The fire had destroyed the house, and the children had been burned to ash. Or that was what people thought. But they where wrong...
A young girl opened her eyes, and slowly sat up. Her once white dress was burned to ash, and her once blonde hair was now raven black. She looked around with flaming red eyes, and tried to stand up. But her body felt so numb. She fell back to the ground. A annoyed hiss escaped her lips. Suddenly she could feel how the feeling sense came slowly back. Her naked body began to feel the ground under her now. It seemed like she was lying on a kind of mirror, although that no mirror should have been able to survive the heat of the fire. Then a question flew through her mind.
"Who am I?"
At first she just got a strange, but at the same time familiar feeling. It was like someone was whispering into her ear. A whispering that was too low for her to really hear. The words was like another language, she couldn't understand them. She tried to stand up, and finally managed to. Confused she looked around. No one was there. The place was empty, left by everyone. The girl couldn't understand why.
"Who am I?"
she asked out in the empty air. No one could hear her of course, but still, she had a feeling that she wasn't alone. A strange feeling, yes, but still strong. Something wild and fiery was near her. Again she looked around. But still no one was there. Suddenly she got a feeling that something was touching her mind. The feeling made her shiver. A voice that was both beautiful and terrible answered her...
"You are Flame"
And the girl nodded. She was Flame. The girl that had survived the fire. A snarl escaped her lips. It was time to let people fear her. And the voice agreed, before whispering to her in the fire's language;
"Let them burn...Let them scream...Let them fear you..."
