The Seventeen Act ~

• Josh POV •

Waking up from that nightmare was bliss.

Loud voices coming from the TV Show were mixed in my daze-dream state causing me to have hard time separating reality from dreams.

Panting and completely drenched in my sweat, I stood straight groggily leaning on the bed rest; rubbing my eyes to clear my view.

A beautiful middle-aged woman in a business suit was seated in an armchair talking to a familiar face, grey-green eyes, brown hair and tall frame. The stupid show name was displayed in the corner of the plasma screen.

"Big shots under the spotlight".

What a cliché  name.

Looking business-like and diplomatic he sat there with all his charisma.

As usual he looked authoritative and scary to some degree.

They were discussing something intently, so I sat straight trying to take in what they were talking about, the woman in dark suit smiled slyly before asking him like trained fox .

"So Mr. Stewart why would you cave in and agree to settle outside the court even though you declared earlier that no matter what happen, you will never agree to their selfish demands."

Surprisingly he smiled feeling confident, answering simply.

- Well after taking into account the people involved best interests we found that making the least damaging choice as the wisest decision-

The smartass woman leaned back in her chair, lacing her fingers together before starting round two of fires.

"But Mr. Stewart don't you think accepting settlements is the same as admitting your technical fault?!".

Letting out a disgusting laugh she added smugly." A well-known company like yours to make such a mistake...don't you think that will affect the business and the clients faith on your performance?! ".

As expected from him, he wasn't affected at all retorting with out-most calmness.

- Actually you have already answered your own question Ms. Watson, A well-known company like us will never be affected by such small scale accidents and drawbacks. And I think I already made clear the fact that we had only accepted the settlements for damaging-control measurements, you know sometimes you have to be the bigger guy ".

Shooting her eyebrows upward the fox-woman obviously didn't expected a forward answer and probably thought that he will play it under the carpet.

Smiling cheesily at the camera she announced a commercial break.

Serves her right!

I threw the pillow on her face, before getting up from the bed to wear my flip-flops and kick the air toward the bathroom; this good day has started in extremely awful way.

Sliding into my navy blue jacket and grey button-down shirt I patted the creases and looked at my reflection on the full length mirror, I would have looked perfectly dashing if it wasn't for this horrible white hair! Damnt it!

Just two more days to go, and you will be back to being Josh Stewart the handsome brunet, just wait a little longer so you won't die from chemicals, imagine the world losing you? Oh lord such a tragedy!

Smiling at the stupid thought, I slipped my phone in the jacket inside pocket then skipped few steps on the round staircase, sliding on them used to be fun in the past, but not anymore, I guess that what growing up does to you.
