"Hey Robyn..."
I could see the worried look on his face. What was he going to say?
"...Can we talk? Somewhere, more private?"
I wanted to say yes, but then again, I kind of wanted mum to hear...
"Ok, I guess..."
"Come on then."
So we walked up the stairs, along the hallway, and into my bedroom. I went to sit in my egg chair by my laptop, while Dan sat on the sofa by my TV.
"So... Why did you come round here at this time?"
"I think you know, are you going to make me say it?"
"Yeah."
"Umm... I'm sorry for what I said, I made a massive deal out of nothing. You know how tomorrow is my Mum and Dads anniversary? Well, I wanted us to have fun to take my mind off that."
"Oh right... I'm so sorry! I didn't know Dan. I feel terrible. You should have told me, I'm so sorry!"
I walked over for a hug, which he greatly accepted. We stood like that for a while, until Dan pulled away.
" I'm so glad you understand, Robs, what could I do without you?"
"I don't know, but you don't have to worry anymore. I'll come over tomorrow if I'm still invited, and we can have a movie marathon?"
"That sounds great, thank you so much. I guess I should go home now, Dads probably wondering where I am."
I was so so happy now. He couldn't just leave though, I had to say something to make him stay.
"Umm... Dan? Would you stay because I..."
I couldn't think of any excuse to keep him here, so I'll just be honest with him.
"Do you want to stay over? I'd love you to, you can use the sofa bed?"
"Alright then, if you insist, Robs. I'd love to. Just let me call my Dad."
While Dan called his Dad, I set out the sofa bed with his usual bedding, and went downstairs to get some snacks and a movie. Tonight was going to be perfect; a movie night with my best friend.
