Kris came running in and wrapped me tight in her arms. I cried into her shoulder.
"Are you ok?"
"No!" I sobbed.
"What's even wrong!?"
"Everything's happening too fast!" I yelled. "I can't process everything this fast." I escaped Kris's hug and ran to my room. I closed the door behind me and and plopped on my bed. I cried into my pillow.
"Steph, do you wanna go home?" Kris asked me from the other side of the door.
"No!! I'm not going back to Canada! Just because my parents moved back doesn't mean I'm going to too!"
"I'm just saying it might be a good idea to go and see your family, take a break."
"I don't know...!" I whined.
"Ok. I love you, Steph!"
"I love you too..." I put my head back down on my pillow and sleep soon took over my body.
-Later That Day-
I woke up, my phone wasn't on my night stand. I hopped out of bed and headed to the living room. Shawn and Lauren were cuddling on the couch.
"Nice...." I rolled my eyes.
I found my phone, it was 5:56pm.
"Hey Canada!" Kris greeted me.
"Hey, how long did I sleep?"
"Uhh, 3 or 4 hours."
"Oh. So they worked stuff out?" I followed Kris to the kitchen.
"I guess. After you went to sleep they came back here all happy and smiley, laid down on the couch and fell asleep about an hour ago."
"Wow." is all I could think of that wasn't rude.
"Yeah. What did he say to you anyways?"
"It's not important anymore." I spoke quietly. Just a few hours ago, Shawn was telling me how he was in love with me ever since I left Canada and now he's cuddling on my couch with Lauren.
"At least I know where we stand." I looked away from Lauren and Shawn and focused on the mail that was on the counter.
"So do you like him or not?" Kris placed her hand on her hip.
"He's my best friend, no!" I didn't know myself if I liked him or not. I wasn't gonna tell her yes because I didn't even know.
"Mhhmmm. Ok." she responded.
"Steph..." I whipped around to greet a smiling Shawn.
"Hi." I slightly grinned.
"Can we... go to the beach or something...?"
I looked back at Kris as if asking for permission. She just shrugged her shoulders.
"Sure." I finally replied. I ran to my room, grabbed my flip flops and headed out the door with Shawn close behind.
It was a silent walk to the beach, an awkward silent walk.
We finally got to the beach. I laid our towel down and sat myself down. Shawn soon joined me.
"So why did you want to come here?" I asked.
"I need answers..."
"About what?"
"Us."
"What about us?"
"What are we..?"
"Well the fact that you were just cuddling on the couch with you girlfriend, ex girlfriend, whatever means we're friends and friends only." I glared at Shawn.
"I fuck everything up!" He yelled.
He laid back on the towel and put his hands over his face."Kind of." I replied.
There was a few moments of silence until Shawn finally spoke again.
"Maybe we should just stay friends..."
"Yeah, we should." I stood up and began my walk home.
"Where you going?" Shawn chuckled.
"Home." I smiled.
"So am I!" Shawn joined my side. "Get on my back."
I listened and hopped onto Shawn's back. I placed my chin on his shoulder.
"I love you... As a friend." I could just see in my mind the smirk spread across his face.
I laughed a little at the thought. "I love you too."
